Disliked: Room was unclean and smelt damp. When I brought this up with reception, they seemed uninterested and offered no solution or compensation. When paying £160 for one night, I expected a clean room and more help service.

Liked: The location and the look of the hotel.Beds were comfy and air con good
Disliked: The cleanliness was not good.Dust was around every where and because it was an old building with oak panelling, dust had settled on it, panels on doors were dusty, carpet in lounge was stained, chairs stained.In the breakfast area where people were seated there was a kichen plastic bin without a lid on being used to scrape away peoples plates, this did not look good at all, it should not be placed in an eating area .Outdoor chairs covered in cobwebs, so for such a beautiful looking hotel it was this sort of attention to detail that needs to be addressed.We were advised through a message from booking.com that a booking in restaurant is advised and the menu on website looked lovely.So a booking was arranged to 8pm on arrival, to be told while enquiring about the menu on arrival that the hotel was only offering a day menu, i.e burgers, fish and chips.This is not what the website is showing

Liked: The staff were very helpful. It had a beautiful garden setting with fountain it was in a lovely neighbourhood. We only had dinner once and the food and service was very good. There was ample disabled ♿ parking.
Disliked: The garden shut at 2130 which was a shame as it was a lovely warm evening and would have bought another bottle of wine. The hotel was a little tired looking in some areas. It was a bit expensive but as it was Wimbledon week it was to be expected . It was also a little further from the town centre than we thought The room for disabled was a bit small

Liked: Beautiful setting. Historic building. Staff helpful and attentive.
Disliked: Lots needs doing since the new owners bought it last year. Looks a bit run down in the grounds. The room, which was very nice, needed to be cleaned more thoroughly. Menu very limited. Only serving room service/ all day menu in busy times.

Beautiful Hotel

Liked: The hotel is lovely as are the grounds and bedrooms. The staff are all really attentive, friendly and helpful.
Disliked: My one and only petty gripe was the pillows are too soft, I did ask at reception for firmer pillow but they don't have any. I do know this is petty on my behalf.
