Would certainly stay again if...

Liked: Friendly, professional and helpful staff. Well appointed rooms. Good food, evening meal and breakfast. Good situation for castles and coast. All staff worked hard to ensure an enjoyable stay
Disliked: Limited parking on site but pre warned prior to visit so not an issue, this isn’t a dislike merely a comment

Liked: Lovely old style hotel set in a small village, & a short walk from the castle & river. Amble is just over a mile away & worth a visit .Staff are very friendly & helpful, the food is well presented & filling
Disliked: Only downside to this hotel is there isn’t much parking on site, but we managed to find free parking by the river & only a few minutes walk away

Liked: The Tudor room was a lovely light a spacious ground floor room. Lot of choice for breakfast and delicious home cooked food. Dinner was varied with fresh vegetables and all home cooked. Loved the chocolate brownie and local ice cream. All staff were very friendly and most helpful. It was a well organised team of staff. Perfect location for walking to the River Coquet and visiting other local places.

Liked: This is a lovely old property with interesting features. The rooms downstairs were very comfortable. The staff very kind and couldn’t have been more helpful when I had an accident. The food was beautifully cooked.
Disliked: We were given a very small bathroom indeed, with a square yard of floor to stand in, . The easy-to-use shower lacked a grab rail and was very slippery, having no mat. There were few places to hang or put things in the bedroom .All very clean but cramped.

I said it above- like...

Liked: One of the most enjoyable hotel stays we have experienced in many years. Delightful surroundings and excellent food. Plus- that rare treat- excellent beer in a hotel bar ( it's often indifferent).Altogether- like staying at your granny's!
Disliked: Honestly can't really fault very much. If pushed, I'd say that the pillows were on the warm side ( probably synthetic, which is understandable)But that would be petty!
