Walden on the Pond

Great stay clean and relaxing

Liked: A Welcome Escape from ManhattanOur time away from Manhattan proved to be a wonderful retreat. The discovery of Walden and Spring Lake added a special touch to our experience. In hindsight, we wished we had known about these serene locations much earlier.The accommodations were both comfortable and exceptionally clean, contributing greatly to our sense of ease. Additionally, the tranquil pond provided a relaxing atmosphere, allowing us to unwind fully during our stay.

Fun but pricey.

Liked: Location nice. Train a bit loud, but the back by the pond was wonderful.Great coffee. Wish there was also Decaf. Lovely kitchen and nice fresh fruit and bagels.Yummy choices and glad there was a protein option..
Disliked: My room was a bit musty and dusty. Bathroom was clean with good water pressure. Bed a bit uncomfortable and there seemed to be sand on sheets.Very homey feel with great shampoo, conditioner and pump soap.

Superb

What could and should be...

Liked: Location is great, the garden with the pond is very pleasant, the breakfast was pleasant as well, the staff looked after us via text in a discreet and efficient manner.
Disliked: The main bed is very wobbly and makes spring noises.The bedsheet are not cotton but a synthetic material.One bed is below the Window AC unit we couldn't use it.The second room where our child slept has no shitters or dark curtains.The door seems it could be open with a little push.

Very nice but next time...

Liked: Parking was convenient. Staff was welcoming The seating near the pond is beautiful and quiet (until the train comes by). The inn is quiet. Did not really hear any noise from the other guests. Morning breakfast was basic but satisfying.
Disliked: It’s very close to a commuter rail line that runs most of the night and day. You will hear the train and the train whistle all night. Our room was very small (but we booked very late so took what we could get)

Liked: I was traveling by myself for a church event and found The Waldon the same day I was scheduled to leave NC. I absolutely loved my room, I was in the small guest house. To be honest, I could have booked another day just to enjoy the beautiful lake and relating outdoor spaces.
Disliked: I loved everything!

Cozy, sweet, b and b

Liked: The location on the lake is beautiful and it is close to everything!
Disliked: WiFi and tv situation needs an upgrade. This didn’t bother me bc I wanted to unplug.
