Overall, our stay was fine....

Liked: On the positive side, the location is excellent – close to the beach, shops, street food and a public parking lot. The staff was very polite and helpful overall. The room was quite spacious, although the furnishings and overall standard felt outdated.We also noticed a CD movie rental machine in the lobby, which was amusing – it felt like a blast from the past, as this was popular many years ago.
Disliked: The breakfast restaurant on the second floor was very disappointing.We were surprised to find that it consisted of two rooms without any windows. A breakfast area should offer a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere – unfortunately, this was not the case.Although the staff tries to be polite, they seemed tense, which created a stressful atmosphere and a sense of rush during breakfast.What’s more, waste containers and trays with dirty dishes were clearly visible – this is simply below the standard one would expect from a 3-star hotel.The breakfast itself was also below expectations, with a very limited selection of food.

Liked: Location was excellent and staff were super-friendly and helpful, particularly Dave on reception.
Disliked: Breakfast was a bit of a let down - toaster only cooked 1 side and swapping hot oatmeal for soup every other day wasnt great for us.

Liked: I requested a room with a "Partial Ocean View", and I requested and was approved for an earlier check-in. When I arrived, the gentlemen told me that I have an upgrade to the Penthouse at no additional fee. Great! Also, the buffet breakfast was a nice addition. The pool area was nice as well.The location was perfect! Only one short block away from Kuhio-Wakiki Beach.
Disliked: When we got to our upgraded PH suite, we had only a mountain view (I really wanted to see the ocean), so I went to the desk to tell him and his response was basically telling me I was being ungrateful. I kept the room after thinking about we would be out and about more than in the room anyway, and that we were going to the Big Island in 2-days where we had an ocean front condo. However, after investigating in our suite, we realized the window in the bedroom area did have the "Partial Ocean View"(we had the corner suite with a wrap-around lanai), why couldn't he have mentioned that? But then the cord/chain for the blinds were broken, so we could not raise them up... Also, one of the table lamps in the bedroom did not work, so it was rather dim in the evening time. Parking was expensive at $45 per day!
