Good overnight stay. Enjoyed it....

Liked: A mix-up over our dinner reservation was quickly resolved by manager who found us a table on a busy night. Excellent steak with a good quality/value wine. If you?re keen on pub stays (we are) rather than impersonal hotels this is a good stop.
Disliked: The room was comfy but ?compact.? Had everything we needed but wouldn?t fancy a longer stay in such a compact room. The shower doors opened just enough to let me in.....

Staff are friendly and helpful....

Liked: Room was large and fully fitted for disabled (not required for vour stay but good to see). Breakfast excellent.
Disliked: Lacked in warmth on arrival as radiator off on very cold day. Bathroom large but again cold and full of additional hand rails and alarm cords. Twin beds comfortable but short (As both myself and wife are under 5ft 8in this is not normally noticed!) Woken at 6.30am by radio below in kitchen and compounded by industrial extractor starting at 7am. Having previously stayed in another room this is purely down to the location of the room on this visit.

Good

Liked: Breakfast good..... pleasant service and quick.
Disliked: Unfortunately it was Valentines evening when we stayed so we couldn't get a table to eat, even though they did have some that were reserved for later they wouldn't allow us to eat early. This meant a takeaway pizza from Sainsburys which wasn't ideal! However, from what we could see the food looked very good!

Fabulous

Liked: It was a clean fairly noisy big pub but we couldn?t hear any noise from our rooms. Rooms were very nice and clean as were the ensuites. Nice walks nearby along the river.
Disliked: We stayed for a meal which was okay. The fish and rib eye steaks were unavailable. The breakfast was very nice. Staff all very friendly and helpful.
