Great facility but very overpriced...
Liked: clean rooms, comfy facilities
Disliked: I booked 5 rooms (including 2 large suites) as a returning W guest for my daughter's wedding close by and not even a complimentary bottle of champagne in any of the rooms. $5k for 2 nights. We rang room service to enquire, and they sent up 1 bottle of white wine for the 5 rooms - not 5, but one. Pretty poor effort W for the price paid and the reason we stayed.Room service breakfast went off at 11am - they should have all day dining given people stay at the hotel after a late night. Late check out at 12pm was appreciated.

Disappointing Experience for a Premium...

Disliked: I expected a high standard from W Melbourne, but my stay unfortunately missed the mark.Without any prior request or communication, I was placed in a room with disability facilities, including a plastic chair in the shower, which felt impersonal and unsuitable for my needs. At this level, I would have expected at least a check-in conversation or explanation.The in-room experience was also frustrating — it took me an unusually long time to figure out how to operate the lights. The touch panel system was slow, unresponsive, and not intuitive. In the end, I had to call the service desk just to get assistance turning them on and off, which is not what you’d expect from a five-star hotel.Breakfast was $54 per person, which might be justifiable if the offering matched the price. Sadly, it didn’t. The selection was limited and underwhelming, and after just 20 minutes of sitting down, staff asked me to leave so they could prepare for the next sitting.For a hotel positioned as luxury, the service and attention to detail felt rushed and transactional. Disappointing, given the brand’s reputation.
