Brilliant place! Everything you want...

Disliked: Couldn't say 1 bad thing

Overall, this stay cost us...

Liked: Location, and breakfast, both were good
Disliked: I recently stayed at this hotel, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected. The room was very sparse and lacked basic comfort. It was also damp, with stains on the ceiling (see attached photo), which was quite off-putting. To make matters worse, the fire alarm went off unexpectedly — apparently, it was being tested without any prior warning or notice to guests, causing unnecessary alarm and inconvenience.Additionally, the complimentary bottled water tasted worse than tap water, and it was apparent that the bottle's top was not sealed properly. During a visit to the swimming pool, towels were handed out, but we were required to pay an extra £10 for the use of bathrobes, which I found to be unreasonable. While drying myself, I noticed that one of the towels had what appeared to be a staple attached to it, which scratched my arm (see photo). I immediately reported this to the staff, and they advised me that the manager would contact me. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive any response.

Wonderful. The staff were charming....

Liked: Characterful, tasteful, stylish and comfortable. The location and views were stunning as always.
Disliked: Outside paving of the pathway/steps and terrace could be smoother. Need to be mindful where stepping. Trip hazard.

Liked: Room big ,clean and comfortable with all little goodies including biscuits all teas ,coffee and drinking chocolate Lovely bathroom with bath and shower 42 inch tv

Disappointing after spending £160+ for...

Liked: Room spacious Nice communal areas Great breakfast
Disliked: Our view was a brick wall (having asked specifically for a nice view)No one advised us to book spa treatments ahead of time (despite me calling to ask for the treatments available, being told they’d email them to me and never receiving) so there were no slots available for us to have a massage or anything None of the lockers were working in the changing rooms (despite trying 10 different ones and then giving up, taking my items poolside)The mirror light in the bathroom didn’t workThe AC was in the lounge side of the room, not the bedroom side so we were not as cool as we’d have likedThe staff were all very mediocre and no one went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Everyone looked and acted like they didn’t want to be there.

Short but sweet.

Liked: Lovely room, very clean, very comfortable bed, beautiful hotel, great breakfast and views, historic building. Love it.
