Liked: The hotel is very old and lack of maintenance. A motel is better than this claimed as a hotel.

Liked: The check in process was smooth. The rooms were well-sized. The beds and beddings were clean and comfortable. The bathtub was clean and the kids loved it!
Disliked: Laundry wasn't open for the period i was there! Also, we had 4 rooms but they were in different parts of the hotel. I understand it was because the hotel was full as it was summer!

Liked: The concierge staff was outstanding, so were the ladies that served dinner/drinks. Anything that was missing from the room, we could call the helpful concierge and they'd provide it. It was clean. The lobby was inviting with many places to sit. The elevator worked. Water was provided during Scotland's "heat wave." The beds were comfortable and Kleenex tissues were provided. Loved the water pot to heat water for tea! The outdoor terrace for breakfast was lovely. I actually liked our attic room with slanted ceiling because of the sunrise views. The yellow flags out front were a helpful marker.
Disliked: Our room wasn't ready when we arrived. We were put in an attic room and my child was on a fold out bed or cot; the room had character and we were comped dinner, which was fabulous because we were exhausted after traveling all day. However, the dinner didn't taste good - we were starving, so we ate it. The shower stall was weird - there was a pane of immovable glass. Result: Water got all over the floor and towels on the bathroom door. I used every dry towel to sop up the floor. From then on, we did our best to stand as close to the shower nobs/handles as possible. The raised tub is also very deep - use a handrail to exit and enter to avoid tumbling out. I wished there was more counter space for toiletries in the bathroom. They do provide laundry service to a company in town, BUT you pay for each article. I just wanted to hand the concierge a bag of clothes, one load, not sit and count each item. It was also very costly. Heat rises. Because our top floor room was very hot, I had the one working window open. One morning, I awoke to a spider the size of my palm above my head. I called the concierge because I had no tools (broom or vacuum) and I wasn't going to throw a fan or lamp at it. Within minutes, two staff members arrived and removed it. I didn't know if it was a jumper or poisonous - I had never been to Scotland before! The staff were our heroes, and my child slept through the whole incident!

Liked: Spotless bathroom comfy bed quiet room on the 3rd floor,I told them it was a special day and celebrating our anniversary.when we come back to our room a bottle of Prosecco with compliments from the the desk team, that in itself made it a more special day soTHANKYOU to the desk team.
Disliked: nothing
