Disliked: Hi Booked a room with 2 beds but wasn't available, but they gave us a second small room with a single bed

Liked: We thought it was a nice hotel in a good location while visiting Edinburgh as a family. Breakfast was fine, room was roomie, no complaints

A complete disaster

Liked: Location, high ceilings in the rooms.
Disliked: This is a disaster hotel which I will never recommend anyone and will not come back there. Starting from the fact that they fist gave us a room with a broken window, full shut that you cannot open and a broken air conditioner. We were moved in to another room, thanks for that. On the 4th night of our stay we didn’t have running water in the room, and over 8 hours the staff were telling us they “guarantee” it’s been fixed and we just have to wait until “tank is filled”. This is just unacceptable for 500 pounds a night. We demanded a 50% refund of the whole stay and had to move out to another hotel at 9pm, as the water issue was not fixed.Breaskfast was prepaid and we were told they’re understaffed on the fist day, that is why we had to wait first to get a bowl, then to get a single plate, then milk, then coffee machine is broken. I don’t think the guests should pay for the hotel’s problems with the staff.

Decent hotel.

Liked: freindly staff, and nice quiet location, quiet and clean rooms.
Disliked: limited vegan and vegetraian breakfast options. too pricy.

Disappointing

Disliked: I was expecting an experience consistent with my previous stay with this brand. Unfortunately, the room was located on the underground floor, which was impossible to anticipate from the hotel's photos or room description. Additionally, there was an unpleasant odor in the room..

Wasn’t pleasant

Liked: Lovely staff
Disliked: The air conditioner was not working.I reported many times to the hotel reception and they told me to send a maintenance team to solve the issue, but it didn’t happen ever during my stay.The food option on the breakfast was limited.The rooms are very tight.

Overall very disappointing customer experience...

Liked: Location good although although a walk, bus or tram ride to main sites. Edinburgh is after all a walking city
Disliked: Service, apart from Reception was invisible. Bedroom below street level if otherwise well appointed with good bathroom and comfortable bed. Student/Works canteen standard restaurant in a building which otherwise showed great initiative in combining several terraced houses. Breakfast a disaster. Self Service but service and quality completely lacking. Hotel was understaffed. Holiday Inn standard not Crowne Plaza and priced as Intercontinental

Disliked: AC was broken. Room was tiny. We got shifted to a different room and the AC was too noisy. We had to switch it off.

Very good for one night...

Liked: location was perfect for me... right next to the festival fringe venue where I had booked a ticket.Able to walk from hotel to Holyrood palace and up Arthurs seat.Breakfast ...paid extra for it and OKBar. bar food and garden appreciated. Helpful staffAble to leave luggage on day of departure.
Disliked: As a single person having to pay the same price as a couple made it an expensive stay.
