Why Concert-goers love it

You’re only a 2-minute walk from Canal Street and within 10 minutes of major venues like The Palace Theatre and Bridgewater Hall. The Piccadilly Train Station is nearby, making late-night travel or next-morning departures a breeze. The hotel’s central spot means you can walk back after the show—no taxis needed. Plus, with 24-hour reception, you won’t worry about late check-ins.

  • Solo travelers catching a long-awaited show
  • Couples planning a music-filled weekend
  • Fans who want a quieter room after a loud night
  • Budget-conscious music lovers

Food and Drink Options

While the hotel doesn’t offer an on-site restaurant, its unbeatable location on Canal Street puts you a stone’s throw from late-night eateries, pubs, and cafés. Whether it’s post-gig burgers or early morning coffee, you’re covered. There’s no in-house bar or room service, but that’s part of what keeps the price down.

Nightlife Options

With Canal Street right outside, you’re surrounded by some of Manchester’s best nightlife—from LGBTQ+ bars and cocktail lounges to live DJ sets. While Ville Hotel itself doesn’t host live music, you’ll be surrounded by venues that do.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel's central location and affordability. Reviews often highlight the friendly staff and the ease of walking to top spots. Many say it’s a great base for a weekend of music and exploring Manchester, and it’s especially popular with travelers who want to stay near Piccadilly Station.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention the rooms are on the smaller side and the décor is a bit basic—but most agree it’s clean, comfy, and a good value. If you’re expecting luxury, this isn’t it—but if you just need a solid place to sleep after the show, it delivers.

The Bottom Line

Ville Hotel is a budget-friendly choice for concert-goers who want to stay central, sleep soundly, and save their money for merch and music.

Staff pleasant but still the...

Liked: The staff were polite on arrival and the location is central.
Disliked: Genuinely the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. 1) Condom found under bed - no idea if it was used or unused (wasn’t willing to find out!) Disgusting and a health hazard.2) Fan in room didn’t work - had to chase twice to get it replaced. 3) People banging on mine and other doors at 5am and making loads of noise before then - smell of cannabis in the corridor after they were there there. No real effort to monitor corridors by staff, poor security and I felt unsafe. I ended up checking out pre-6am as I’d had enough! 4) Generally poor cleanliness - original broken fan was caked with dust, under bed was thick with dust, small amounts of litter left around. 5) Low bed frames - not the best to get in and out of though the mattress was sufficiently comfortable but not great.6) Very noisy location all night long - can’t sleep with window open due to noise or closed as it’s too hot! 7) Soap and shower gel dispensers empty and only half a toilet roll provided - fortunately brought my own. 8) Shower door was off runner - I was able to sort that myself though the shower and cubicle wasn’t in great cosmetic and functional order. 9) Contacted management - no reply. Will escalate through other channels. In summary - dirty, hot, noisy, unhygienic and unsafe. I wouldn’t stay there again even if I was paid to do so. Nobody would willingly pay for what I did. Only redeeming features were polite staff - though polite, competence wasn’t great.

Good

Disliked: The hotel rooms could do with a refresh, marked walls, tired bathroom, missing shelves. Toilet positioned in an awkward place that prevented sitting on it flush

Well located and comfortable.

Liked: It was well located between the station and the venue (The Academy) The bed was comfortable and the room was cool.
Disliked: It was a basement room and was very warm so there was a lot of fans and air conditioning units humming away and leads. However by leaving them on whilst I was out I could turn them off when I got back a bedtime and it didn't get too warm through the night.

Good stay, no fuss, really...

Liked: Great location and very friendly staff who were eager to help and be responsive to any needs we had. Beds were particularly comfortable!
Disliked: The sizing of rooms seems back to front. A friend in a different double room had considerably more space than our room for 3 people. These would have been better swapped.
