Clean, comfortable and great facilities

Liked: The hotel is really clean with great facilities and comfy beds.
Disliked: Early morning wake up as the gym instructor can be heard from the rooms at the back of the hotel.

Perfect stay

Liked: Our second time staying here for Creamfields, we were able to park before check in and checked in after midnight with ease which we were very grateful for! Room was spotless and I had the best nights sleep, the bed was beyond comfy. Shower was perfect!
Disliked: Nothing

This is a good hotel...

Liked: The welcoming, friendly, professional and hard working staff are the Village Hotel's greatest asset. We were happy with the room and the evening meal including the service and the parking arrangements.
Disliked: I received a significant offer from Village Hotels (following on a weekend we spent at the same hotel a few weeks earlier but by then I had booked the hotel through a comparison site. When I tried to book at the offer price the Village Hotel website firstly was showing the date of the transaction as the date of our stay and it was not possible to change that in the booking. I tried again from scratch and the site came back with prices in Euros instead of GBP which did not match the offer. On trying to contact the offer team the message indicated what I already knew, that I had booked through the comparison site, and did not offer to help any further. On my final attempt the offer was not available for this hotel. I had hoped that I might access some offers at the hotel but in the event our evening meal proved considerably more expensive than we would have expected to pay. It worked out at more than £60 for two very good but not particularly unusual meals - though they were well prepared and enjoyable. In short, I was not impressed with the clunky web site or the response resulting from my enquiry though we both enjoyed the hotel, our room and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. However, some guests do not respect normal protocols in that it is not unusual to hear people at other dining tables interviewing candidates for employment, transacting other business and speaking loudly on video calls on their laptops on the next table to people who are eating socially. One guest moved from table to table complete with laptop and other things but seemed oblivious to other guests. The hard wall surfaces meant that the acoustic intensified the echo and whilst we were placed on the quietest table, the noise from the darts and the louder guests was intrusive.

Fantastic hotel and would definitely...

Liked: Everything the location was good the rooms were big and very clean. The staff were very polite and friendly and Christine who was the reception staff was very helpful with a little issue I had. The beds were clean and really comfortable the shower was massive and lovely.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Breakfast had to pay one person extra due confusing emails for adds on
Disliked: Nothing

Very good

Liked: The staff were all very helpful. I had a fall during my visit and the staff were magnificent
Disliked: The bar can be noisy and it would be good to have an alternative place to sit

Second time staying but may...

Liked: Modern and good facilities and parking
Disliked: Very late loud music till past 11.30pm in event room . Wedding at hotel but shouldn’t effect paying guests was going to move hotels it was that loud . Was up early in morning !
