Village Hotel Swindon

Very good

Liked: The bar and food were great we didn’t wait too long for our meal and they tasted delicious. It was Very easy to find and lots of car parking.
Disliked: We have previously stayed in the village in Bristol and Southampton and compare to this one the rooms are pools are outdated. But other than that it was a good stay and was a decent price.

Disliked: The bed was making sound, very noisy one.Someone knocked at my room door and used a card to open the door while I was still in the room with my woman without asking him to come in until i said who is that before he said sorry and left.That's not acceptable

Disliked: have stayed here on many occasions over the years. Always good value, but hotel is starting to look tired and worm. With chipping paint every where. Limited number of staff at Bar. Therefore you have to call if anyone is around

Disliked: Beds were like granite. Breakfast ends too early weekday 06.30 until 9am...if you're on holiday that's far too early to end. Room 211 needs balcony door fixing, bolt too hard to push across, came back and found balcony door flung open after we'd been out all day! One set of light switches by bed didn't work, room very dim. Dyson fan had no remote control, so it was blasting out on 10 and wouldn't oscillate either. Swimming pool only accessible by ladders, no stairs so no good for mobility impaired, so l didn't get to swim either, the only reason l chose this hotel was it had a pool. No warning of any impending noisy events, first night a music banging do downstairs that kept us awake. The last night a huge prom night, motorbikes racing up and down the driveway for what seemed like hours, music thumping until morning, then realised it was now coming from the next room 212 after the prom had ended, no one on reception to complain to, so did the 'scan QR code' as requested on room information to do to send a message for staff. Who did absolutely nothing! So no sleep all night. We ended up packing our bags at 6am and leaving, tried knocking on office door, got no answer, missed out on having breakfast because that didn't start until 8am on a Saturday. Refund due Village hotel?
