The Spotlight on Village Hotel Edinburgh

Stylish Comfort Just Outside the City Buzz

Modern and well-equipped, Village Hotel Edinburgh offers a sleek retreat just a short ride from Edinburgh's city centre. With a contemporary design, an on-site spa, and a gym with an indoor pool, this hotel balances relaxation and accessibility. Located just 1.6 miles from Murrayfield Stadium and other top venues, it's a smart pick for music lovers visiting the capital.

Each room is air-conditioned and includes a flat-screen TV with Sky Sports, free Wi-Fi, and a modern bathroom—ideal for decompressing after a high-energy show.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel hits the right notes for music fans: it's close to major concert venues like Murrayfield Stadium and the EICC but far enough away to enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. The on-site parking is a bonus for road-trippers, and with late check-in from 15:00 and check-out until 11:00, there's flexibility for those enjoying late-night gigs. Local transport links make it easy to get into the city and back safely after a show.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a social base with a bar and casual dining
- Solo travelers heading to a once-in-a-lifetime gig
- Couples planning a concert-filled weekend getaway
- Fans who want a quieter, more relaxing post-show atmosphere
- Budget-conscious music lovers seeking good value with great amenities

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Village Pub & Grill serves up all-day dining with locally sourced options—ideal for either pre-concert fuel or a late-night bite. There's also a Starbucks on-site, perfect for those much-needed post-show lattes. While 24/7 room service isn’t available, the bar and grill stay open late enough to satisfy most cravings.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, it’s a quick trip into Edinburgh's lively nightlife scene, with bars, clubs, and live music venues easily accessible. Prefer something more low-key? The hotel bar offers a relaxed setting with a good drinks selection, including local craft options.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, the convenience of the on-site gym and spa, and the friendly service. Many also highlight the easy access to city attractions and venues, making it a favorite for event-goers.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviewers note that the hotel is a bit outside the city centre, so taxis or public transport may be needed for late-night returns. Also, while the gym and spa facilities are excellent, they do come at an extra cost—which might not appeal to budget travelers.

The Bottom Line

With stylish rooms, great dining, and easy access to Edinburgh’s top venues, Village Hotel Edinburgh is a solid choice for concert-goers who want comfort without the chaos.

Our stay at Hotel Village...

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Our stay at Hotel Village in Edinburgh was a disaster. We booked two rooms at £275 per room, expecting a comfortable stay, but what we got was a series of issues that made our experience unbearable. The toilet sink in our room was clogged, and on a hot day, the air conditioner didn't work. We reached out to the staff multiple times for help, even as late as 3 am, but despite their efforts, they couldn't resolve the issues. One staff member's suggestion to open the windows for ventilation was impractical, given that the windows were jammed shut. What's more, the manager wasn't helpful in addressing our concerns. Instead of taking responsibility, they directed us to contact (link unavailable) for refunds. This lack of accountability was disappointing, especially considering the premium price we paid.To add insult to injury, we also paid £75 per room for breakfast, only to be served horrible food. Given the subpar experience and exorbitant prices, I would strongly advise against staying at Hotel Village in Edinburgh. The hotel failed to deliver on its promises, and we left feeling frustrated and disappointed.

Awful experience will not be...

Liked: Reception staff and two young guys at bar were helpful.
Disliked: Restaurant staff member (bald chap) was so rude when we asked for our starter and main course separately. We were then given a scalding hot pot of beans for our 4 year old I couldn’t remove off the plate as it was so hot.We were then given chilli instead of chicken tikka and when we questioned this the same server said we were wrong and was so rude. The tikka arrived 10mins later and was so chewy it was inedible. We found a dirty sock in our room. The shower wasn’t cleaned and had hair and conditioner left in it from previous guests Restaurant table at breakfast was still covered in crumbs as was the seats
