The Spotlight on Village Hotel Edinburgh

Stylish Comfort Just Outside the City Buzz

Modern and well-equipped, Village Hotel Edinburgh offers a sleek retreat just a short ride from Edinburgh's city centre. With a contemporary design, an on-site spa, and a gym with an indoor pool, this hotel balances relaxation and accessibility. Located just 1.6 miles from Murrayfield Stadium and other top venues, it's a smart pick for music lovers visiting the capital.

Each room is air-conditioned and includes a flat-screen TV with Sky Sports, free Wi-Fi, and a modern bathroom—ideal for decompressing after a high-energy show.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel hits the right notes for music fans: it's close to major concert venues like Murrayfield Stadium and the EICC but far enough away to enjoy a peaceful night's sleep. The on-site parking is a bonus for road-trippers, and with late check-in from 15:00 and check-out until 11:00, there's flexibility for those enjoying late-night gigs. Local transport links make it easy to get into the city and back safely after a show.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a social base with a bar and casual dining
- Solo travelers heading to a once-in-a-lifetime gig
- Couples planning a concert-filled weekend getaway
- Fans who want a quieter, more relaxing post-show atmosphere
- Budget-conscious music lovers seeking good value with great amenities

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Village Pub & Grill serves up all-day dining with locally sourced options—ideal for either pre-concert fuel or a late-night bite. There's also a Starbucks on-site, perfect for those much-needed post-show lattes. While 24/7 room service isn’t available, the bar and grill stay open late enough to satisfy most cravings.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, it’s a quick trip into Edinburgh's lively nightlife scene, with bars, clubs, and live music venues easily accessible. Prefer something more low-key? The hotel bar offers a relaxed setting with a good drinks selection, including local craft options.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, the convenience of the on-site gym and spa, and the friendly service. Many also highlight the easy access to city attractions and venues, making it a favorite for event-goers.

Areas for Improvement

Some reviewers note that the hotel is a bit outside the city centre, so taxis or public transport may be needed for late-night returns. Also, while the gym and spa facilities are excellent, they do come at an extra cost—which might not appeal to budget travelers.

The Bottom Line

With stylish rooms, great dining, and easy access to Edinburgh’s top venues, Village Hotel Edinburgh is a solid choice for concert-goers who want comfort without the chaos.

Passable

Liked: Jack on reception was really the only totally positive thing he was so friendly and helpful. The parking was good too. Rainfall shower was great but water went everywhere.
Disliked: We had a double double room, it was spacious but the beds were awful so soft if anyone moved other persons felt they were being bounced out. Pillows so lumpy and uncomfortable. For nearly £300 for 1 night there were no extras like water or even biscuits with tea /coffee.It was advertised with blackout blinds they weren't there was a space between blind and wall which let in a lot of light! Breakfast was awful ....when we arrived it was quiet... Staff not friendly or helpful just shown to table not even a short explanation of where things were. Very basic.and cheap options considering price paid..and everything was empty and we had to wait 10-15 minutes for it to be replenished then breakfast was so busy with.lots of people milling about. . On the whole the hotel has potential to be good and it's quite modern but it's dark I felt like I was permanently squinting.

Disliked: Room decor could be slightly updated, but absolutely fine for a short stay.

Disappointed

Liked: Location remote, staff were very helpful, but we had to ask for towels, we had to ask for room to be cleaned. Shouldn’t have had to ask. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel
Disliked: Not a lot

Disappointed to have a room...

Overall good but in need...

Liked: Travelling with 2 kids and one adult we got a double/double room. Good size plenty of space, room very clean if a little tired. Pool facilities good and also clean, busy at kids times but we were ok with this. Avoid if you're not with kids. Staff friendly, efficient and generous - great with kids. Starbucks handy but could do with a facelift - heavily ripped burst seat covers made the place look a bit untidy.
Disliked: Pub/restaurant a bit disappointing. Wasn't expecting anything amazing but maybe slightly more than Wetherspoons style from a 4 star. Food of the frozen/reheated variety and very little options if you don't eat meat or dairy. Despite this the staff in the restaurant were really nice and efficient.
