Got a bad room.

Liked: I like the shower the rain shower was awesome and very clean
Disliked: We had to wait 30mins for our first drinks to arrive with our meal. Then we ordered doughnuts which took 45mins to come our 2nd drink. Which we eventually had to go to the bar to remind them or god knows how long it would have been. The radiator in the room was broken. It was -1 outside and snowing we had no heating. Which we had to go and get the man off front desk to have a look. He eventually got it working. But then you couldn?t turn it down. So we had to see with the window open and quilt off us. It was my wedding anniversary and put a bit of a dampener on it. Plus the lights are on one wall so it was very dark in the room. They?re very small lights no plugs either on the bed side wall. So couldn?t unplug one to put it by the bed.

Disappointing

Liked: modern, basic appearance.
Disliked: The jacuzzi was cold. There was no hot water in the morning, so we showered in cold water. The meal deal that we prepaid for the ?Pub and grill? did not include drinks - very disappointing, as this was not made clear on purchase.

Mixed feelings

Liked: We were a family of 5 adults and 4 children. We had booked 3 rooms. The children loved the swimming pool and the hotel had a relaxed atmosphere which was nice for them too. ideal location for Black Country living museum.
Disliked: The carpet in reception and the lifts were covered in chewing gum. No hot water in the sinks in 2 rooms and no heating in one room. There was no telephone in any rooms to contact reception. Breakfast was of an extremely poor quality.

wouldn?t stay again

Liked: Honestly, Nathan. The receptionist that looked after us after possibly the worst night we?ve ever had in a hotel.
Disliked: The room was fine on first glance, until you realise there are no plug sockets near the beds, so can?t charge phone overnight. tv quality poor. really bad picture on most channels. but here?s the main issue. we were in 108, very close to the stairs which lead to the bar. we booked months in advance and specifically requested a quiet room due to ill health and other factors. but we seem to have been given one of the rooms closest. there was a live singer all night, so impossible to relax or to get to sleep. then when the bar closed we got a barrage of drunk people going past our room all night. the person in the room above was obnoxious and loud and was up until 3am playing music and walking around loudly. I tried to phone the hotel but got an out of office closed response. I had to put a towel along the door to block the bright light from the corridor as the gap was so big and it illuminated the room. upstairs guy was up again at 6am so we had to get up at 6am !! so I had 3 fitful, restless hours sleep. the bar is ridiculous. there is no effort to soundproof the rooms to protect hotel guests. it seems the bar is a priority and perhaps a more lucrative revenue stream as this is not the first complaint by guests regarding the noise. I had to come downstairs to literally beg to be moved to another room and luckily met with Nathan who is first class by the way, and if it wasn?t for him, my complaint right now would be a lot more official and not just a review. he had other similar complaints from other guests while I was standing there. one from a lovely lady who was the unlucky next door neighbour of my upstairs noisy guest. please sound proof your rooms. please lower the music volume in your bar late in the evening and be more attentive to how loud guests are when they leave the bar.
