Village Hotel Basingstoke

Good value stay

Liked: Great location for Basingstoke station. Staff were excellent, particularly the man on reception who was super helpful. Nice bar and restaurant and leisure facilities.
Disliked: Bathroom door didn’t close

Liked: Bed was really comfortable. All staff were brilliant.
Disliked: Friday breakfast was terrible, mushrooms looked like they had been deep fat fried, way overcooked and was like chewing rubber. A choice of eggs would be nice, other than scrambled eggs. By the time you got back to your table (about 2 mins maximum) your breakfast was just about lukewarm. Saturday breakfast was better, mushrooms cooked properly. Again when you got back to your table, your breakfast was lukewarm.Rooms are very small and not clean. Around edges of shower screen were grubby, skirtings could do with a good wipe down. Carpet had stains on it. Edges of carpet/skirtings could do with a good hovering.
