Don't Go !
Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: The outside looked shabby on arrival and got worse as we entered the building. Dark, drab, cluttered and parts of outside, almost derelict. The parking bay looked like it was about to fall off it's ledge into the 20 foot drop below. We had to go down 4 flights of stairs to get to our room (and I have mobility issues). Supposedly a sea view room but only half a view as the trees had overgrown. Scared by now as I had no idea how to get out if there was a fire. Climb out on the rickety balcony a drop down the 20 feet to the sloping garden?. Asked the Manager about the wi-fi. No internet available. No wardrobe, 6 hangers in hooks in the wall. Left an hour after arrival. Tried to email the Manager about a refund but was told she was too busy until Monday to look at my claim. I have opened a dispute resolution with booking.com. Horrendous experience

Exceptional
Liked: Tastefully decorated with antiques but modern facilities. Proprietress was extremely friendly and went to the trouble of ringing a local eatery to check they were open. Highlight for us was the view from our balcony of ships leaving and entering Southampton!. Excellent breakfast. A lovely place to stay.
Disliked: Not their fault, but WiFi signal was almost non existent in our room.

A wonderful stay at Villa...
Liked: Our first time on the IOW. We had a wonderful stay at Villa Rothsay. It's a beautiful Victorian House with wonderful views. Location is excellent. Breakfast was exceptional with such a great choice. While you have breakfast you get to look out watching the sailing boats go by. Just perfect. Margaret and Zac were so friendly and very helpful. There is also a bar with an honesty box if you fancy a drink later on. We would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thank you.
