Villa Montparnasse

Good.

Liked: Perfect location, cosy & quiet. Nicely old-fashioned decor with a lot of charm. Friendly and helpful staff.
Disliked: Kept bumping my head on cupboards. Cleaning could be a little more thorough, especially the bath.

Very good

Liked: Great location nearby the metro as well as a street filled with fromagerie, boulanger, boucher, primeurs etc. For us walking distance to île de cité was acceptable. The room was cozy with a great balcony where we could get a glimpse of the Eiffel tower.
Disliked: The bathroom was nice but a bit worn and would benefit from a renovation.

Pleasant

Liked: Good location with easy access to metro and trains.
Disliked: However the rooms were spotless clean they are due some refurbishments. Toilets looked old and with broken parts, the sink was not draining properly and carpet had some burns near the door.

A very clean cozy hotel...

Liked: I staid for a rather long time, which is sufficient to judge the hotel, whether the cleaning is done sporadically, the noise levels, overall level of comfort. The room was very clean, and by that i mean - squeaky clean. In Paris it is quite a bit of a hit and miss, so this was definitely good. The bed was comfortable as well. These two things combined are probably the most important aspects.
Disliked: The room was very small and a bit awkward to get in (the built-in wardrobe is sharing space with the door. It is fine for a short stay, but for prolonged stays it can get a bit annoying. I staid 3 weeks.The hotel is often booked for large tourist groups, including teenagers, so you can guess how wild the noise levels can be at those nights.

Disliked: The room was old and clearly had not had much work done to it to modernise it.The bathtub had flaky bits and cracks, the sockets on the walls were coming out of the outlets exposing the wires. The carpet was not clean.
