Staying at The Victoria was...

Liked: On my next strip to Scotland I would spend the majority of my time at The Victoria. Lorraine & David Boa go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The dinner was perfect and the breakfast was just what I needed. The pub in the back of the inn was just what I would looking for. The local residents gather there and are so friendly. Originally I was going to stay for one night but ended up staying for three and hated to have to leave.
Disliked: There is nothing not to like about The Victoria. The Inn, village and people made everything perfect. I would love to live there.

Very good

Liked: Very clean room. Owner lovely man . Did not meet Lorraine.
Disliked: A warmer welcome would have been nice. We got taken up 3 flights of stairs, given keys and told breakfast was at 8.30 and then told as we booked via Booking.com it would be continental breakfast only. We would have liked to have been asked if we had eaten or like a drink and shown to the bar.Does not cater for special dietary requirements as stated. Vegan, not much call for advised by Lorraine via email, so was asked to bring own 'special food' etc. I gave 36hr notice. In this day and age Vegan/vegetarian should be catered for as standard. Breakfast was cheese, yogurt, butter, milk. I had dry toast and a banana. If they could get this right it would be a perfect place.

Liked: Super friendly folks.
Disliked: Dinner service was just okay, they seemed busy though the room was only half full. I got the feeling that something else was going on behind the scenes, like maybe someone didn't show up for work?

Liked: The hosts and staff were amazing, helpful and very friendly.Location is priceless absolutely beautiful.The food was very good and a lovely choice.
Disliked: Nothing really, all was to our satisfaction.

Portknockie stay

Liked: Friendly staff. Room clean with great views across the water. Situated in lovely fishing village. Plenty food offered for breakfast.
Disliked: No food served on a Wednesday and bar closed as hotel was working on winter hours which was not a problem as pub practically next door and fish & chips shop across the road.

Satisfied customers

Liked: I loved the hotel - very Victorian and well situated in the village. Their menu was excellent PLUS there was the option of the famous chipper opposite. The hosts were great.
Disliked: Nothing, we had a lovely stay. BUT we couldn't access the Wi-Fi in our room and had to sort it from the bar - no big deal.
