Exceptional

Liked: Spotlessly clean in rooms and all public areas, bar and restaurant. Staff extremely welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Rooms are spacious, comfortable, have good amenities and nice modern bathrooms. Food in restaurant is excellent and great quality as well as extremely good value with most mains only £9 to £11. Stayed a few times before and would again and the high standard is always maintained.
Disliked: Only thing negative is i think mattresses on sofa beds are probably getting to end of their life. A bit wire like lumps in places and starting sag in middle.

Liked: Cooked breakfast was excellent, the black pudding and haggis were delicious. The staff serving breakfast were lovely, very homely. Great service. Ann Marie on reception was very friendly and accomodating, she booked our taxi to the wedding venue. We came from Lanarkshire and asked for an early check in which was honoured. Could not fault the staff. They were all excellent. Room was spacious and clean, shower was enormous! Beds were comfy.
Disliked: We were in Room 2 which was the twin room to the front of the hotel facing into the road. It was noisy with traffic and the patrons leaving the bar were chatty..😂But we were tired after a long day, and soon got over to sleep. The big bay window of this period property isn’t double glazed, so expect some traffic noise for sure.
