Fit for purpose, needed a...

Liked: Good location. Close to the train station. Fridge in the room. Nice garden outlook on our ground floor room, although no privacy.
Disliked: The decor felt cheap and out dated. Double bed is small and not that comfy. No air con.

Fine for layover stay

Liked: Close to Bedford train station. Staff was friendly. Fob entrance at main door. Quiet neighbourhood. Good enough for 1 night.
Disliked: Single room had quite a small bed for an adult. Emergency exit in the room. Can hear neighbouring rooms. Unfortunately the weekend I went it was very hot in UK, hotel room was not equipped for the heat and humidity

Disliked: No English beer in the bar.

Liked: Loved the hotel, staff great and hotel so luxurious. Facilities good. Room so clean too.Ideal for my stay at the kite festival. So close.Loved the decor and gardens too.Extra great value for my stay thank you.mWould love to come back.
Disliked: Only one minor problem. I could hear my neighbours tv and them talking. Got woken up.

Good from proximity standpoint but...

Disliked: No hot breakfast was available, and the morning male staff member was rude. The ladies working in the evening were very friendly and nice. The rooms smelled like fresh paint, and the hallway smelled weird. The bed was not good either. I would expect better standards from a hotel marked as 4 stars, quite honestly.

A successful visit from overseas,...

Liked: We stayed for five nights but decided that eating out locally offered more choice than available at the hotel.The hotel is ideally located for travellers by train, Bedford Station 5 minute walk away. The hotel also has a small car-park, no additional charge. We found the hotel generally quiet within, noisy with windows open being that it's situated on a major road into/out of Bedford. The bed linen was second to none, pillows and bed comfortable and we both slept incredibly well. The bath and shower adequate. Limited tea/coffee replenished daily and TV facilities supplied.
Disliked: The building is 100 years old, I had nothing against that fact. The windows are probably original, one of ours secured with sellotape. Around the window, outside lots of cobwebs, it happens overnight, but needs to be addressed. The bathroom needed refurbishment. I'm not a large size, but occupying the facilities was kept to a minimum because of the tight confines.
