Great for backpackers - and...

Liked: We were able to keep our luggage in a safe storage room even after checking out, which was necessary as our flight was only in the evening. The location of the property is good: we were able to walk to the harbour in about 30 minutes and much of what we wanted to see was even closer. The common areas are nice for people to meet, cook, eat and chat.
Disliked: The room was very basic, with dim ceiling lighting. The bathroom has a motion sensor for the lights, which is extremely irritating because it does not cover the shower area. Every time you use the toilet for more than a minute or take a shower, the light just goes off. Having to reach out of the shower and wave a hand repeatedly to turn on the light is a real nuisance. The place appears to be run by a single person and when she is not there - as was the case when we arrived - there is nobody to take her place. You just have to wait. We had a small sink area in our room with a kettle but no tea or coffee - just sugar. This place is a good backpackers accommodation but advertising it as a lodge with an appeal to a wider public is simply wrong.
