Overpriced, hot and tiny room...

Disliked: This hotel is extremely overpriced and I would not recommend it.Although a great location there are plenty of other hotels in this location to choose from. We paid an obscene amount of money for a standard double room, which can only be described as a converted cleaning cupboard.It was insanely hot weather and we understood there was no air con however being on 2nd floor we hoped that the windows would at least open properly which they didn’t. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and this is the worst in many years!!

Central location to see Oxford.

Liked: Good location and room size.
Disliked: For the price, it lacked a small refrigerator in the room and was a little tired with worn light switches and curtains.Breakfast pasties were mediocre. The piles of linen in the hallways left for housekeeping on two mornings was quite unacceptable and it didn't reflect the promised quality and certainly not the price of the property.The management's approach to an additional night booking was unnecessarily greedy, as it was advertised cheaper on the day. I feel they are very new to the hotelbusiness with inexperienced staff.

Liked: All the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good. Also, the hotel is ideally located.
Disliked: The room was too hot with no effective way of cooling it down.

Very good location but average...

Liked: This was a very good location within easy walking distance of the major sites. Didn't use their breakfast but numerous tea rooms/coffee shops nearby. Staff was helpful and friendly.
Disliked: The room was very small and not well designed. They offered an upgrade for an additional fee. We should have taken them up on that. Just a reminder that there is no AC so visits in the summer can be a little dicey if there's a heatwave like we experienced.

We loved it.

Liked: Beautiful room and bathroom, cool and quiet. Tasteful decoration and furniture.
Disliked: The part of the room where the bed is is not very well lit and quite dark at night. Extra lighting in the corners or above the bed would be great. We spent quite a bit of time in our room at night and wished it had been better lit.Shower a bit hard to work out, but excellent once we understood how it worked.

Some things to improve considering...

Liked: The location is great, it’s quiet, the view is lovely and the amenities are great and the bed was very comfortable.
Disliked: No A/C, the room was incredibly hot and the fan did not have a remote so could only be switched on and off with very limited control over the temperature. The TV is huge and honestly ruins the space - I’d have preferred not to have one at all. The shower knob was very difficult to operate with wet hand and there was no actual cold water so I couldn’t cool myself down.
