Pleasant Stay with Some Ups...

Liked: Location & Facilities: The hotel is conveniently located, with easy access from the highway. It’s a well-maintained and attractive property, offering a range of facilities. The lobby is welcoming, and the terrace is a lovely spot to relax. The indoor restaurant, while slightly dark, is tastefully decorated. The Toucan Health Club is tucked away on the lower level but is nicely furnished and creates a cozy atmosphere.Restaurant: Dinner at the hotel restaurant was excellent. Portions were generous, the pricing was reasonable, and the food was genuinely delicious. Service was outstanding—friendly, professional, and helpful. It was a pleasant surprise to be able to ask for advice in our native language and to feel truly listened to. A big compliment to the restaurant team!Toucan Health Club: The wellness facilities were a highlight of the stay. I especially enjoyed the wellness garden, the variety of saunas, the rain shower massage, and the floating experience. A bit more variety—perhaps replacing one or two saunas with different experiences—could enhance the wellness offering even further.
Disliked: Room: We booked a standard twin room for a weekend six weeks in advance, paying €380 excluding breakfast—a fairly steep price. The room itself was spacious with a comfortable bathroom. However, the towels were quite small and not particularly plush, and only one per person was provided. Housekeeping was available daily and also 24/7 roomserviceThe biggest disappointment was the beds: two narrow, low-quality box springs that kept sliding apart. The mattresses were too soft and oversized for the frames, causing me to fall out of bed twice during the night. This was definitely below the standard I would expect from Van der Valk.Breakfast: Breakfast is priced at €21.50 per person per day, but unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. While the selection was extensive, nothing really stood out in terms of uniqueness. The focus seemed to be on abundance. In hindsight, I would have preferred the à la carte option for €10.95, which I noticed several other guests choosing. Terrace: the experience on the terrace was less satisfying. Service was slow, possibly due to understaffing, and the snacks and finger foods were disappointing. The country bread with croquettes was unappetizing, and the Pinsa with carpaccio did not look appealing. On a positive note, prices on the terrace were still fair.Cocktails: Cocktails were priced at €11.95 but didn’t deliver. They were weak, half-filled with ice, and lacked flavor and alcohol content.

Liked: Absolutely everything was exceptional. From the politeness of the staff, to fantastic facilities such a pools / golf and beautiful restaurant and outdoor seating area. The food and cocktails were amazing. I would 100% recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.

Liked: Staff was amazing! Location was easy to get to and offered plenty of parking. Property was amazing with lots of food options. Food was delicious! Breakfast buffet was soo good! Rooms were so clean! I will be staying here again. The location is 15 minutes from Tilburg train station where a wide variety of food is available as well.
