Why Concert-goers love it

Vagabonds Hostel couldn’t be better located for catching live shows—it's just a 2-minute walk to The Belfast Empire Music Hall and a quick taxi or bus ride to The Waterfront Hall and SSE Arena. The hostel's chill social areas make for great pre- or post-concert hangs, and since check-in starts from 13:00, you’ll have plenty of time to settle in before the show. The quiet hours policy helps keep things mellow when it’s time to wind down, and with the hostel’s central location, late-night transport options are easy to come by.

Nightlife Options

You’re right in the thick of it—just steps from local bars, live music pubs, and lounges. While the hostel itself doesn’t offer live music, the relaxed common areas are great for meeting other travelers before heading out to explore Belfast’s buzzing nightlife.

Horrible

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: I was extremely dissatisfied with this hotel. They charged me a late check-in fee which was never mentioned during the booking or reservation process. They took this £20 from me forcefully, and I will attach the receipt as visual proof. There was absolutely no prior notice about this fee anywhere — they literally extorted this money from me.In addition, the rooms were extremely damp, with peeling paint and plaster on the walls. Most parts of the hotel smelled of mold. The entire building had a musty, unpleasant odor. They claimed that breakfast was included, but what they offered was just some cereal — it felt like a joke. I completely reject such misleading information. What’s even more frustrating is that, with a small additional fee, you could stay at a much better hotel nearby. Also, the shared bathroom arrangement was not clearly explained on the booking website. I was very unhappy with this as well.I would never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to anyone. It’s far too poor even to be considered a budget option.

I enjoyed Belfast, probably stay...

Liked: People working there were friendly
Disliked: Could not sit up in lower bunks, hit your head. Nothing but beds in room, no hooks, tables and chairs. Very few toilets and showers for that many people. No elevator. Breakfast is make own toast and cereal, nothing else. Hang out area etc not near as nice as most hostels I have stayed in.

Easy stay at Vagabonds in...

Liked: Staff: friendly and inviting, Good location: several nearby food and drink options and walkable to train station, Decent kitchen: small but well appointed appliances and stocked with supplies. Was clear that hostel was being used by backpackers and cyclists; not just a bunch of pub-crawlers. Basic breakfast in morning was good for kick-start.
Disliked: Some people may find this hostel small, but others (including myself) enjoyed the coziness.
