Sydney, Wilmington, visiting Mercury Lounge Sat, 10 September 2022

For this price in New York, I don't think I could've asked for a better place. Sure it was tiny and the bathrooms were shared but that was to be expected. Throughout the time I was there the staff were constantly cleaning and maintaining the shared areas, the whole place was honestly cleaner than most other places I've stayed ever!

Liked: It was super clean!

If you want to stay...

Liked: Excellent location right in China Town, a short walk from the subway. Low price compared to other Manhattan accommodations. Plenty of restaurants, shops nearby. We were given another blanket on request and the staff even boiled water for us - the room was cold.
Disliked: From the reviews we knew what to expect. Old furniture, uncomfortable beds, no mat in the bathroom, no breakfast, no fridge, no kettle, no tea bags. No heating in the room, so it was cold. But we survived two nights.

Great value but make sure...

Liked: This hotel is cheap, the staff are friendly, and it is in a great location!
Disliked: The rooms are comically small, and the walls are so thin that you can hear the conversations of those in neighboring rooms. I also didn't realize that some rooms do not have a window or any source of natural light.

You get what you pay...

Liked: The location of the hotel is perfect. Very close to a subway station, in 25 minutes or less you get to Central Park and other famous attractions in NYC.
Disliked: The room was very small, the bed was touching the wall from three sides (feet, head and right side) and it was uncomfortable to get in bed

Passable

Liked: Close to subways and the East Village. Rooms and bathrooms were clean.
Disliked: Bed was like a rock. Other guests blasting Indian music all night and morning including an hour in the shower with it cranked up.

It was fine.

Liked: The bedsheets were clean. The bathrooms were clean.
Disliked: The lack of clean floors and the lack of furniture and TV in the apartments leaves a lacking experience. invest in better business. There’s no windows. It’s a little white square with a wooden beam in the center of the room. It’s not bad but it’s not much more than pleasant. Luke-warm. Felt more like a Hostel than a Hotel.
