Liked: Location is unbeatable, right in the center of Madrid, bordering Chueca and Malasaña (two of my favorite neighborhoods), but in a quiet area. Pretty much everything is within walking distance. The bed is extremely comfortable. It was exactly what I expected. Very recommended.
Disliked: The lights in the bathroom should be on a dimmer. They were too harsh when waiking up in the middle of the night.

A beautiful, comfortable and well...

Liked: From the doorman and reception desk to the bar and breakfast room, the staff were friendly, courteous and professional. The Hotel is very well located, just a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the main streets. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and we appreciated the environmentally conscious approach of quality bulk-dispensing containers for toiletries, rather than individual single-use containers.

Disliked: Only a 9 in total evaluation, and here is why: Travellers with pets be careful. I booked our stay with Booking.com, and had included the fact that we are travelling with a service animal. I had a fixed price confirmed by Booking.com.Upon arrival, the front desk told me they had to upgrade our room because we were travelling with a Pomeranian dog. This upgrade would be Eur 150 / night, therefore Eur 300 for the stay. I explained that we never asked for an upgrade and this basically means they are charging for the pet. I also explained that by European law, hotels cannot charge anything for a service animal (which our Pomeranina is, we have documentation). We had a major disagreement on this issue. Finally the manager reduced the Eur 300 to Eur 120 for the two nights, which is still not correct. We will follow up on this.

Liked: Everything! Very comfortable, well appointed rooms, and an excellent breakfast. Pleasant staff. The pianist is amazing for an evening cocktail in the lobby. Always lovely to return here!
