Classy, comfortable hotel in central...
Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff, nice lobby/lounge and bar area, comfortable and quiet rooms, on site parking (for a daily fee).
Disliked: The hotel charged me upon checkout despite that I paid in advance via Booking.com.

Liked: We LOVED the experience at The Patio! The location itsself was also amazing - so walkable. We loved the aesthetic of the common areas and felt a great energy and vibe. Parking was also super convenient.
Disliked: It felt like we paid for more luxury but there really werent any amenities. The morning coffee was less than average and it felt weird to not have little waters, snacks available more accessible. The staff at the Patio was also complete opposite of the staff at the hotel. Besides Sonny - he was awesome!

Liked: The desk clerk lacked personality. She just said everything is closed on Mondays without recommending somewhere to eat. After much walking we found food. Bed and room was very comfortable and clean.

Liked: Comfortable bed & bedding. Close proximity to DPAC & local restaurants.
Disliked: The problems began with trying to find the drop off point for our luggage. The hotel didn?t give directions on where to park so we could safely unload our car. If you reserve an ?inside room? be prepared?..no windows, sort of like camping in a cave. Not what I expected for the amount they charge.They were kind enough to upgrade us to a room with windows. It was a ADA room. Be prepared to have the entire bathroom floor flooded if using the shower. Also, the thermostat was ?locked? so the temperature could only be adjusted for 2 hour intervals. Never had seen this in my years of traveling. The room had NO drinking glasses, glass or plastic. I called customer service, they said they would send some up. 30 minutes later, no cups. I asked the cleaning service, who?s was across the hallway from us, if they had any cups?.no but they would get us some. 5 minutes later we had the cups. Every explanation of the hotel?s problems was answered with one word? Covid!, I have traveled several times across this country, stayed in numerous hotels and never had a room stripped of nearly every comfort item due to a virus! Perhaps these regulations are generated by city ordinances, I?m not sure. But, one thing I am sure of, Durham will lose the opportunity to host many guests if this truly is the explanation for how the cities hotels are operated.
