It was a terrible place...
Liked: There was very little to like about this hotel.
Disliked: 1. The whole place was dirty and grimy. 2. I complained the minute I checked in I complained about the smell in my room. The manager said several time he could not smell anything. I asked for a new room and was told there were none. 3. The air conditioner stopped working in my room and they did not fix it, I had to ask for an oscillating fan. By the third day, I Was having headaches and the manager finally said he would find me a new room with a working air conditioner.4. The “breakfast” was a joke. There was a waffle maker and coffee not much else. A few pieces of bread. No fruit, no juice, no milk… it was awful. 5. The pictures show a pool…don’t bother to bring your swimsuit.. it is locked up and not open to anyone.6. The staff was rude from the moment we walked in to the moment we left.

Disappointing facility and belligerent staff.
Liked: Not much. When I explained to the lady at the desk that they were violating the law and that the manager had told me that he was "suffering more than I was because the elevator was broken", she did change to a more pleasant tone. Otherwise, it was a very disappointing experience.
Disliked: I had requested an accessible room. When I arrived, the clerk stated, and I quote, "You have an accessible room reserved, correct?" to which I replied that was correct. She stated all right let me get you checked in. Then, a few minutes later, her entire attitude changed. She stated that the elevator was broken and the accessible room that she had reserved for me was way at the other end of the hall on the 2nd floor requiring a lot of walking to a back elevator. After a lot of drama, I was forced by exhaustion and the fact that I could not find another room anywhere else, to accept a non-accessible room. They only offered two choices: Take a nonaccessible room, or cancel the reservation. They seemed angry and put-upon. As for the room, it was clean but very dingy and the bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. I glanced at the breakfast and it did not appear to fit the lofty definition of "continental breakfast" which implies fresh pastries, fresh fruit, coffee, and juice. Nothing of the sort. The front desk was not handicapped accessible, either. The manager was quite belligerent on the phone when I was trying to get the room. I tried to find information on the hotel, and learned it is being sold on the foreclosure block on June 10th according to the SF business journals, so that explains a lot. Definitely not worth the money. Better service, honor my accessible room, functioning elevator, room not in disrepair, actual edible food at the breakfast bar.

Liked: Friendly and helpful staff, with a good location and nice views. However, it’s about a 30-minute walk from downtown Berkeley to the hotel. The hotel is close to the Bay Area and surrounded by plenty of restaurants and cafes.
Disliked: Floors 1 and 2 are designated for guests with pets, so make sure to request a pet-free room when you check in if you have allergies or concerns.Breakfast was disappointing—not due to limited options, but because of the poor quality and taste of the items like bread, jam, and waffles.

You’ve seen the rates. Don’t...
Disliked: We were given keys to an OCCUPIED room which OF COURSE caused an uncomfortable confrontation with lingering effect. Management handed us correct key cards without even a simple “I’m sorry”.
