Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort

Very nice resort with many different things to do. Very clean. Friendly staff. Great food options. Only downside with our stay was the parking. Electronic gates were not working using room key and cars were getting backed up trying to come in and out of the resort. Also I was charged twice for a daily parking pass.

Disappointingly

Disliked: Small rooms, the rooms location was very far from the lobby and it was hard to get to the rooms. We stayed 3 days and there was no cleaning. The crew was ok but the hotel was too crowded.

Liked: Very clean and spacious. AC is quite silent compared to other hotels in the US.

Staff are great but hotel...

Liked: It's nice that you have access to volcano bay and hour early. Pools are nice. Pleasant staff.
Disliked: Rooms are getting rundown. Furniture stained. Decorative pillows dirty and bedspread looked grungy. The layout of the hotel is terribly confusing. We've stayed three times and still get turned around.

Convenient stay if visiting Universal...

Liked: We were there to spend time at Universal studios. So, our time at the hotel was short. Room was clean and spacious enough for a family of 5. Kitchenette came in handy as well.
Disliked: We expected the prices to be high but man, paying over $100 for a breakfast that consisted of a couple of omelettes and kids pancakes was a bit much for us. We ended up grabbing items at a local store so that we were not spending $100-$250 per meal

Disliked: I have stayed at Cabana Bay several times before, and my experience was always good. However, this past weekend, when I went with my kids and friends, I had a very stressful stay.On the first day (Saturday), there was no water in the room. On the second day, we waited over an hour for maintenance to fix the door lock battery. We were just sitting there waiting for someone to come.I am very disappointed because they assigned us a room without proper infrastructure, first no water, then a broken door lock. I left home with three kids expecting some rest and comfort, paid for it, and did not get that.This was not a good experience at all. I plan to leave a negative review on Google about this. I no longer recommend Cabana Bay to anyone. In fact, I had previously recommended it to friends who stayed in other rooms, but I will not be recommending it anymore.
