Liked: Staff were super lovely! Location is great.
Disliked: Room sink had a sewage smell. Shower was broken so I had to hold the head. Toilet was leaking. Room felt very dusty.Expected way more for what I paid.

Liked: Breakfast set up was good. The room was comfy with plenty of hot water and the bed was very comfyA nice break with a superb pub just down the road.
Disliked: The tea and coffee in the room was a bit sparse, and it would have been nice to have a small drinks fridge for the milk I always carry with me.

Good staff, good food and...

Liked: We had dinner one evening and that was good. Breakfast was also very good. Although we didn't play the golf course it gave the hotel a nice open feel, parking at the hotel was easy as they catered for golfers as well as hotel guests.
Disliked: It all went well so nothing we didn't like. If I'm being picky it would have been nice to have had Sky sports in the clubhouse to be able to watch The Masters.

A hotel that's seen better...

Liked: Upgraded to a larger, comfortable room with lovely views. Much of the good food had run out at breakfast due to a coach party all eating at the same time, so staff were struggling to keep up.
Disliked: Where to begin? The reception area looks like a dated public service building with no decoration, vinyl flooring and staff who seemed to be unable to crack a smile. Overall the decor is minimal, dated and tired. The staff are all quite miserable looking and there was a large golfing party unable to golf due to inclement weather, so the bar staff were run off their feet with coffee orders. We had to wait nearly half an hour to get a cup of tea. We arrived early at 11am, knowing that there was no check-in until 3pm but the receptionist didn't even ask our name or offer to let us know when our room would be ready. When we returned to the desk at 3pm, I expressed my unhappiness with the general surroundings and commented to the receptionist on some of the poor reviews on tripadvisor (which I'd had plenty of time to read between 11am - 3pm!), she made no eye contact or reply, she just curtly said that she'd upgrade us to a better room. Having said all that, the bed was comfortable, the shower good and we got a good night's sleep once we'd put wedges in all the doors to stop them from rattling in the wind!
