Disappointing service in a lovely...

Liked: The glrunds were well lept and the facilities were clean
Disliked: The staff were not helpful and many seemed rude and miserable. We booked dinner for 5 as we have a child amd llanned to explore the grounds before bedtime. We didn't get served for over an hour, so we were not able to enjoy thr evening we planned. Food and drinks are also so overpriced for below average food

Lovely stay, breakfast a let...

Liked: The lunch and dinner service were really good, nicely presented. The spa was great, lovely treatment and the facilities are great.
Disliked: The breakfast took 40 minutes to arrive and was half an English muffin with two tiny poached eggs and smoked salmon with a sprig of watercress - it was really underwhelming and on a huge plate! There were no sunbeds available either day of the stay by the pool, and they were not tidied neatly or cleaned ready for the day. The facilities are fab, but it seems tired and despite there being lots of staff around, everyone seemed rushed off their feet.

Overall our room was wonderful...

Liked: Beautiful architecture of the hotel. Stunning grounds and garden.
Disliked: The balcony of the hotel room was under-dressed. Hanging baskets of flowers would have been a nice touch. The shower pressure was very weak. The drinks were very expensive. The full English breakfast was somewhat underwhelming, though the buffet was exceptional as with the breakfast staff.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Underwhelmed due to our dirty...

Liked: Absolutely beautiful main building, staff were lovely and breakfast was delicious
Disliked: however the room we was given had a dirty flannel, complimentary chocolate which were melted, a welcome card with the wrong name on and underfloor heating that wouldn’t turn off and it’s currently 29-30 degrees outside, not to mention the badly stained bed runner and broken shower handle. All these little things start adding up when you’ve paid over £200 for a night away. Honestly was not worth the stay for a birthday surprise, it was disappointing.

Beautiful grounds and peaceful stay.

Liked: Grounds were beautiful, outdoor heated pool was lovely, room was great.
Disliked: The spa should not be charging premium prices to have a massage in squeaky broken chair without any space to put your face. Do not be fooled into booking.
