Tweeddale Arms Hotel

Last visit sorry.

Liked: Location is good in a lovely village. Hotel had a good feel about it. This was my third time staying but my last.
Disliked: Noise from the plumbing (heating and next doors shower) kept me awake. Noise from outside I was in room 9 above the street. Could smell smoke in my room from people smoking outside the public bar doorway. Charging premium rate with continental breakfast not sure that’s value for money.

Friendly village hotel.

Liked: Very good location. Excellent value for money.Full continental breakfast.Staff very friendly.
Disliked: Room TV was very small.Bar needs an update.

Exceeded expectations.

Liked: View of the village green. Great walking for the dog just outside the hotel. Continental breakfast only.
Disliked: A bit more choice at breakfast.

Let down by the breakfast...

Liked: The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The fish and chips at dinner was very good.
Disliked: The breakfast let the place down. We were on a road trip and stayed at 5 different places in 6 nights in Scotland and this place was the most expensive but the worse value for money because of this. Not a lot of choice and only continental which I would have been fine with but I tried 3 different pastries / croissants and all were very stale.

Pretty and charming, really enjoyed...

Liked: Really cute little pub in a charming village, bed was comfortable, shower was hot, everything was clean, breakfast was really good. I was really impressed by how nice it all was.
Disliked: Would've liked a mug rather than a tea cup but I understand it wouldn't really fit with the aesthetic

Very comfortable and good, cheap...

Liked: Comfortable room, good location to get around East Lothian and Edinburgh and also down into Borders. Continental breakfast was generally good.
Disliked: Cleaning of rooms and in general could have been better. Dinner was poor quality with small menu.

Lovely period hotel with great...

Liked: It’s great. Rooms are clean, staff are very helpful, and they’ve got the food just right… it’s priced reasonably and the portions are huge. No fry up at breakfast (better for you anyway folks!) but loads of options on the Continental.
