The Tulip Inn's situation is...
Liked: The hotel is only fine for travellers with independent transport or for business people working in the industrial estate.
Disliked: The location of the hotel was terrible for us as we did not arrive by car. We assumed there would be good public transport. The hotel is situated in a large industrial estate outside the city. There is a bus service which stops at 8.20 in the evening and does not run on sundays or public holidays. There is a reduced Saturday service. On May day we had to walk to town which took me 2.5 hours. Google maps shows it as being 5 miles from the train station. The area is UNSAFE at night as prostitutes and pumps work in the adjacent car and lorry parks. The city newspaper ran several articles about violent attacks here. Moreover other than the hotel itself there is nowhere local to eat as the area is largely factories and industrial units. Taxis cost €17 to the city train station and on our arrival the receptionist said it was unlikely any would come out to the hotel to collect us on Sunday. This meant that our evenings in Padua were cut short. Also bus tickets can only be bought at the central station so the initial journey into padua from the Tulip Inn was problematic as we couldn't purchase bus tickets on the bus. The reception team did little in the way of helping us with maps or transport information. In general they was indifferent and unhelpful.Regarding the hotel itself our "welcome pack" comprised 2 tea bags, 1 coffee sachet, 1 small bottle of water, 1 mini packet of biscuits and a single paper cup. This was for 2 people. When I asked for more water I was told that this was only for our first night. If we wanted more we had to pay at reception. Given the price of the hotel, this was a poor show.Overall I was disappointed by the hotel's situation. It spoiled my holiday. The location was appalling and a warning ought be provided to all travellers without cars.

Great spot for a quick...
Liked: Very near the motorway so ideal spot for a stopover - 10 min drive into centre. Good sized car park and decent breakfast. Travelled with dog, no problem.
Disliked: Room very hot so had to open window and with location there was a lot of road noise.

Not a good value for...
Liked: Beds are comfortable
Disliked: It is expensive for what you get. On the breakfast, most of the time we spent in the restaurant there were no plates, spoons, cups were missing... First time we saw something like that in some hotel that is not cheap at all..Area is quite noisy. Definitely will skip this hotel next time.

Pleasant
Liked: Location was very good, it's close to city center.
Disliked: Double bed consisted of two mattresses, it was very uncomfortable. The room wasn't like one on the picture we booked. The TV in the room had a bad signal, the transmission was interrupted on every channel. Also, the TV is not smart, so we couldn't turn on Netflix. We did not complain to the reception about any problem because we were only staying for 2 days and spent a little time in the room.
