Great location, but an older...

Liked: Great location, friendly staff, reasonably priced public parking garage across the street, 2 streets over from the train museum, and walking distance to the main drag of the historic district.
Disliked: Though the hotel looks stylish and chic, upon arrival I could tell that it was actually an older property that got a makeover, but a makeover that cut a lot of corners unfortunately, and also seems to be maintained on the cheap. The room we were assigned was spacious, stylish, and fresh looking when we first opened the door, however there was a few long hairs in each of the beds and the shower looked to be skipped in the remodel and had black mold in the corners. We immediately asked for a new room and were accommodated. The second room’s bedding was clean, but also had an older shower that had seen better days and when. The air conditioning unit was also very old looking and had a musty smell so we ended up not using it. Everywhere I looked it was apparent they cut corners with their remodel, paint all over the hinges of the doors (too lazy to tape off or remove), new shower curtain on a dingy old shower, etc. I feel bad saying it, but it kinda felt like lipstick on a pig…

Great rooms!

Disliked: Location was a bit away from most everything. Too far to walk to most places of interest.
