Disappointing

Liked: The beds were comfy and breakfast the next morning was good. Location was good for what we needed. Even though I have MULTIPLE negatives about our stay, I will give props to the people who were TRYING to check people in. The lines were INSANE and most rooms were not available but they never lost their cool. That being said, they were understaffed for what was happening.
Disliked: This is the first time I have EVER had to wait in a line for 30 minutes to TRY and check in. Check in time is 4:00 and I did try to check in at 3:35, was told my room wasn't ready and I understood because I know I was early. No problem. What was upsetting was that the employee wrote my name down and said to come back in 20-30 minutes and/or she would call my name. I specifically asked her if I would have to wait in line again and she said NO. I waited an hour, NOTHING. So I did wait in line AGAIN for another 20 minutes and still no room available. There was a never ending check in line and the employee was not looking at the list of names she had written down yet other people in line were getting in to rooms. It was beyond irritating after a 4 hour drive when we needed to get into a room, change and head to an event at 6. The next HORRIBLE thing was PARKING. There is valet, however they just park your car on the street and you can do that yourself and not pay the $55 valet fee. There is metered parking around, however there were also signs at the meters that said permit parking only. So basically we were worried about our car the whole trip. We paid the meter but were also worried about this random permit sign. The security outside said we were fine to park there but the signage made no sense.The front desk always had a line, you couldn't even pop over to ask questions without a huge wait. Also, the general lobby area just felt really dirty and they were so rushed to get rooms ready that it worried me how clean our room actually was. WHen we walked up to check in the housekeeping cart was literally at our door. I would not stay in this hotel again simply for the fact that parking is a nightmare and our room was not ready on time. Thank goodness we were only there for 1 night.

Liked: All of the staff was extremely kind and pleasant and helped us every time we needed help. The room that we got was very quiet and we had a lovely view.
Disliked: The location is OK, but there was a party and two girls sleeping half naked in the hallway when we woke up as well as the smell of marijuana coming down from the hallway. I attributed to graduation weekend in downtown St. Louis just a half a block away from where all the nightlife happens. The $55 per night price tag for parking was astronomical.
