Liked: The location is perfect. It's within walking distance of a few restaurants, not far from UTRGV. The hotel smelled as though it was pretty clean.
Disliked: Upon arrival, the room door was not charged. I proceed to go downstairs to inform the front desk with the door charger in hand because at first we weren't sure what it was. The front desk rep was advised to provide us with a new room and have Maintenance charge the door for the next guest. The rep called maintenance and asked if they could charge the door as the key card was not working and the room had already been assigned to us. At this point, I was furious because she did the total opposite. So I asked her if we were supposed to wait until the door was charged before we could get settled in. Mind you we were going to be there from Friday to Monday. She gave a snarky look and I could hear the person on the phone tell her again to give us a different room and they will send Maintenace. The rep proceeded with an attitude which at this point pissed me of even more. (I don't remember her name, but I wish I did). She appeared to not really want to be there to do her job.The rooms are considerably very small for the amount of money we paid for the room. The AC went off in the middle of the night which made the room pretty hot. Woke us up out of our sleep each night, sweating. We have never experienced that before.Asked on Saturday, 4/26 (before 9) to have the room cleaned (because we were told to request since we were there for consecutive days) there was nothing done but the towels replaced and the trash taken out of the room. The sheets were not changed and the bathroom was not cleaned. I am okay with continental breakfast BUT this was horrible. The only thing that I could stomach was the bagels w/ peanut butter and the mango water (which by the was was amazing)There are only 2 ice machines in the entire hotel and one of them was out of order so you had to go to the 3rd floor to get ice which was not too bad but only 1 elevator worked.All in all we will not be staying in a TRU by Hilton hotel again.

Exceptional

Liked: Super friendly staff. Easy check in. Coffee was perfect. Did not have breakfast, only grabbed an apple and banana on the way out. Will definitely stay at this property again.

Liked: Nice room with a comfy bed.
Disliked: There was no microwave and the walls are very thin.

Liked: The area is surrounded by restaurants and things to do.
Disliked: The first room we were assigned didn’t have working a/c. We were then switched rooms because the maintenance man was already gone for the day.

Liked: The room was spacious
Disliked: I did not appreciate being given a room that was dirty with dirty towels/linen. Housekeeping either did not clean the room that day or some else was staying in that room already.

Stay was okay.

Liked: The hotel is near restaurants in walking distance. The staff was great. Accommodating when needed.
Disliked: The rooms were very small. Breakfast was not good.
