Trianon Gare De Lyon

Good location with basic, small...

Liked: Hotel was conveniently located with regards to metro and proximity to Gare de Lyon. Bathroom was a good size given the room was somewhat small and quite tight for to very tall women. The balcony was a nice thing to have but I did pay more just to ensure we had it. The bed was comfortable and the AC was crucial given we were in Paris during a heat wave.
Disliked: The staff were a bit hit or miss, sometimes really nice and professional - sometimes a bit strange and unfriendly. The towels were soooo small and flat. Not fluffy enough to feel as though they were drying us and did not dry out quickly enough.

Liked: The hotel is in a great location. The room was clean with a great power shower and plenty of hot water. Our room was cleaned every day by a lovely member of staff and the decor in the hotel is great.
Disliked: I felt a bit scoulded by the staff a number of times, and there wasn't enough sunbeds outside. I also wanted to have an early morning swim, but was told the pool doesn't open until midday??

Liked: Finding decent accommodation in Paris at an affordable price is quite difficult. Hotel Trianon Gare de Lyon met my expectations. The high rating on this website convinced me to make a reservation, which was significantly better than competing properties. The hotel building is perfectly located - on the main street, but I couldn't complain about too much noise. Nearby, there is one of the largest train stations in Paris, a metro station (quick access to the biggest attractions), a bus station, and many atmospheric cafes and restaurants. The room I was given was quite spacious, decorated in a pleasant dark blue and gold colour. Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient.
Disliked: I would love to see a bottle (or two) of mineral water as an addition to the coffee and tea bar.
