Great place for adventurous travellers

Liked: This place is great. There are some complaints in the reviews about things such as the stairs. If you are in good condition, this shouldn’t be a problem though. If you aren’t, maybe reconsider as there is no elevator. This place is not the fanciest, but it blends perfectly in with the Manx experience in my opinion. Sure, the decoration is a bit dated, but that makes perfect sense after a day travelling by steam train. For that matter, the WIFI signal wasn’t always that strong in my room (but it was fine in the lobby), but it would have been even better if there had been no WIFI. As I said, not the most fancy place I ever stayed, but considering the money it’s a great option if you are on a budget.

Lovely, relaxing stay

Liked: Central position on promenade, easy access to trams trains & buses. Lovely breakfast overlooking bay, lovely room comfy bed and clean en suite.

Exceptional

Liked: Balcony with fantastic view was a bonus, very good breakfast and room was cleaned daily. It's a family run hotel, which I prefer to patronise for a more personal service. Access is easy, as are all the hotels along the promenade or sea terminal. Frequent buses direct from the airport along the prom for just over £3. Incidentally if you're from the UK, you can pay for everything in sterling but if not make sure you change Manx money before you leave, or if shopping ask for any sterling they may have in your change. The location is great for the electric railway and horse tram, a 6 min walk. Had a great stay with no complaints . On a different note, I travelled all around the island by bus and tram and no graffiti whatsoever; a pleasant change from most places, I wander how they do it. The locals are pleasant and friendly, makes a big difference when 'abroad'
Disliked: WIFI does not reach into the rooms, in fairness that is mentioned on the site. But the owner, a charming lady, recognised this and I believe an upgrade is planned. The signal for digital TV was also bad and again that was recognised by the owners. The place is a maze of corridors and stairs so perhaps some signage indicating which way to go would help. And that's all I have to comment on !
