Tree Hotel at Iffley

Very good

Quiet, friendly place to stay...

Liked: The setting in Iffley Village, a very comfortable spacious room. Good breakfast. Nice staff. Bus stop 5 minutes walk away, so park the car at the hotel and catch the bus into town.
Disliked: Stairs and hallways in need of decoration.

Good for short stay

Liked: Basic necessities are provided. Location is good for my purpose of travel.
Disliked: The facilities are old and need upgrades.

Gave us all we needed...

Liked: Affordable,friendly and spacious.
Disliked: Lack of attention to bar area and entrance. Needed a paint!

Everything else was booked up,...

Liked: We were expecting a continental breakfast, but there was actually a cooked breakfast available along with cereal and juices.
Disliked: A very tired hotel, scruffy and worn. Bed not very comfortable. No air conditioning, but there was a fan in the wardrobe - only discovered in the morning after a rather uncomfortable sleep.

Poor. 3/10

Liked: Not much besides the cold beer great coffee and reasonable breakfast as well as the location.
Disliked: Room was really old and tardy. No hand rails in the bathroom, shower pressure was non existent, basin taps were loose. No air conditioning and fan provided was so mall am ineffective. Dinner was lousy, after hearing so much about the curry restaurant, food quality was poor (raita and butter chicken were aweful)

I won’t go there again

Disliked: As a solo traveller I find the smaller rooms near the kitchens, chimneys etc. Squeaky door. Key for room door and front door identical so wasting time trying both each time. Door to room faulty. I couldn’t get out. Called staff, no apology and was accused of not knowing the knack. When I couldn’t get hot water from shower I didn’t feel like being told I was doing it wrong again. Room shabby, peeling paper and tape holding quadrant on bath in place. Fan supplied but fins were so dirty I didn’t switch it on. Breakfast served between 8.30 and 9.30. When I questioned this I was told ‘it’s on the website’ I looked again but could see no mention of timing which was far too late for me. I had to be at my appointments at 8

Disappointing

Clean, quiet and quirky.

Liked: Clean, warm, quiet neighborhood. Could be described as quaint.
Disliked: Mattress is a bit old and probably should be replaced.
