Pleasant

The room was comfortable but...
Disliked: The hotel is located in an industrial zone with a Kruger paper plant right across the road. We were greeted with a very rude “Yes?” at the front desk as if we were interrupting something far more important. Our room smelled of pot when we first arrived. The breakfast setup felt like eating at a summer sleep away camp. The doors to the eating area were locked at 9 am (while dozens of guests were still sitting inside). The bathroom had a rude sign telling us how many towels there were supposed to be and a warning saying that we would be charged if any were missing or stained. (And since we had not been given 2 of the listed items, I felt obligated to tell them that we hadn’t stolen them).

cheap but not clean
Liked: cheap
Disliked: The hotel's carpets and walls are filthy and haven't been changed in years. The sheets and pillowcases are full of holes. Many things are repaired with clear tape.

I slept well and had...
Liked: They have an excellent breakfast and presentation and space. I was told by another guest that many rooms had been renovated and they are very nice. I was in an older room, probably because I have a small dog. The outdoor of the hotel is very spooky! Many many outdoor lights are burned out making it unsafe to climb and down the entrance steps. Very unsafe for car security.

too expensive for a sketchy...
Liked: The pool was well kept and in a nice location.
Disliked: The hotel was in terrible shape. Honestly, it's the worst hotel I've ever seen that was part of a chain. Worst travelodge in my life and hard to understand the Wyndham connection. For the $300CND after tax for one night, it was not good value. Broken lights, broken door locks, 20 year old + carpets and other features... smelled like smokers in the hallway... it looked like a family motel that hadn't had maintenance or repairs in over 15 years. Which for $150/night might be acceptable... but for $300, what kind of world are we living in.

Bad
Liked: Clean sheets that's about it
Disliked: Room smelled like weed and cigarettes and the factory behind us kept me up all night so I didn't get any sleep
