Travelodge by Wyndham Monterey Bay

For a low class hotel it wasn't completely horrible.

Liked: Upon check out the front desk attendant asked if we were going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and we were able to purchase our tickets instead of waiting in line at the aquarium.
Disliked: I asked for non-smoking adjoining rooms when I booked. I called to verify and they said they could get the rooms straight across from each other. Upon check in this was not true and the room I had my baby in smelled horrible of cigarette smoke and I don't know what else. The crib was not setup nor were the sheets put in the room for it. The room gets extremely hot and humid, no a/c.

Good

Liked: It was comfortable and quiet, except for the occasional airplane. Sorry there was no bathtub as I was looking forward to soaking in the tub.

Travelodge has all you need...

Liked: We liked the king size bed in room 128. The type of bed is very comfy and roomy. The room is well maintained and very clean. We liked the pergo style flooring too. The bathroom was nice as well and the hot water was amazing. The heated pool was warm enough to swim even though it was a little chilly with the Monterey climate.
Disliked: There was really nothing that we didn't like. We had an additional charge on our card, no fault of Travelodge, but the front desk staff fixed it quickly and assured us it wouldn't charge our card. And she was absolutely right. All this customer service with a friendly attitude was refreshing and is why we keep coming back.

Liked: Most of stay was lovely however the TV was an issue several times we had to phone reception.

Liked: Room was clean. Bed was comfortable
Disliked: WiFi was terrible. Also got a warning that connecting to WiFi was not safe. I connected it to my phone but got off right away. Then I noticed that all my contacts were gone. Hope I wasn't hacked. Also tv had channels that were not watchable because of freezing up and scrambling. Wanted to watch golf on the Golf Channel but couldn't.Shower door was broken and shower was just a trickle of water coming out.Last thing is there was only 1 pod for 1 cup of coffee in the room. Cutting back I guess.

Spartan, but comfortable room at...

Liked: Clean, comfortable room. great location. ample parking. very friendly and personable staff.
Disliked: Room was very basic with no separate, enclosed bath vanity area.

Disliked: A small breakfast would have been better.
