Travelodge by Wyndham Monterey Bay

For a low class hotel it wasn't completely horrible.

Liked: Upon check out the front desk attendant asked if we were going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and we were able to purchase our tickets instead of waiting in line at the aquarium.
Disliked: I asked for non-smoking adjoining rooms when I booked. I called to verify and they said they could get the rooms straight across from each other. Upon check in this was not true and the room I had my baby in smelled horrible of cigarette smoke and I don't know what else. The crib was not setup nor were the sheets put in the room for it. The room gets extremely hot and humid, no a/c.

Pay a bit more and...

Liked: Receptionist was very friendly, we were able to check in at 1 am, they have on-site parking
Disliked: It is very old and a bit creepy, it looks much worse in life than on the photos they display. Room is not very clean, also we found a dead roach near the bed.

For the price, I truly...

Liked: Convenient location
Disliked: Booked for 3 nights; had to request replenishments — from coffee to towels!

Liked: The heated pool is the best thing about this property. The pillows and beds also very comfy. Front desk staff very nice!
Disliked: The price was too high for a broken ice machine, no continental brkfst, just apples and costco granola bars, coffee with only powdered cream packets.
