Get what you pay for. No bells or whistles but for the price I would stay there again.

Liked: Inexpensive.
Disliked: Nothing.

Would definitely be back.

Liked: The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean and smelled fresh as we walked in. The location is excellent, everything walking distance. The train station, restaurants, jazz club, and the park.

Hostel-like Hotel at Hilton-like prices...

Liked: How close it was to the marathon start and finish. Comfortable King bed (not the pillows, though). Fridge and microwave in room. Coffee maker, although I'm not a fan of that single cup tea-bag style.
Disliked: Noisy. Single pane windows, with retro-fitted air conditioner, gaps in windows letting in cold air. No kleenex, no spare blankets, uncomfortable broken-down old sofa bed. Lack of shelf space in bathroom. No information about leaving sheets and towels alone and not changing them every day. No recycle bin.

Avoid rooms facing the road....

Liked: Check in was easy and the staff helped me to store my baggage during the day time after I checked out. Property location is very much near Union train station.
Disliked: The property is located just near a corner of the train route. Whenever a train passes the curve, there's just too much Noise. Train noise combined with an strange metal clanging noise near the window gave me a sleepless night. The metal clanging noise was way too scary, as if someone is knocking at your window. Gave me nightmares!

Good location but outdated room...

Liked: The location was great, close to Grant Park, a metro station and downtown Chicago. The bed was comfy but that's about all that was great about the room.
Disliked: The room and hall corridor outside the room were outdated and tired and didn't reflect the pictures used to advertise the hotel. The paint on the walls were cracking and the windows were dirty. The curtains in the room didn't cover the whole window so once the sun came up, the room was filled with light. The bathroom was dirty and very small and the whole room was very cold and the heater was impossible to use. It was only by chance that the housekeeper got it working so the room warmed up a bit. Value for money was rubbish as I've stay in cheaper hotels all over the world and experienced a better value for money stay. If I come back to Chicago, I will not be staying here again.

Very small room. The curtains...

Liked: Location
Disliked: If you move any furniture at all you can see they only clean on the surface. I dropped something and when I went to get it from under the bed it was obvious that hasn?t been cleaned in some time.
