The Spotlight on Travelodge by Wyndham Aberdeen

Affordable Comfort Just Minutes from Aberdeen's Music Scene

Modern yet no-frills, Travelodge by Wyndham Aberdeen offers a relaxed and budget-friendly stay close to downtown Aberdeen. Located just 1.7 miles from the city's heart and within easy reach of local venues, it’s a smart base for music fans looking to catch a show without breaking the bank. You'll find spacious rooms, free Wi-Fi, and a casual on-site bar and restaurant, all designed for easygoing convenience.

Why Concert-goers love it

This hotel hits the sweet spot for music fans who want to be close to the action without the downtown price tag. Its location near major roads makes getting to concerts in Aberdeen — or even a short trip to Baltimore — super simple. The 24/7 front desk helps with late-night arrivals, and rooms are set back from the main road, keeping noise levels surprisingly low after a big show. Flexible check-in from 3:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM gives you time to recover post-concert.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a simple base with easy access to shows and bars
  • Solo travelers checking off a bucket-list concert
  • Couples making a weekend out of a live music experience
  • Fans who prefer a quiet space to come back to after the encore
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want value without sacrificing comfort

Food and Drink Options

You won’t go hungry here. The on-site Grumpy's Bar and Grille serves up casual American fare and cocktails for dinner—perfect after a night out. A daily continental breakfast is included, ideal for a slow start the next morning. While there’s no 24-hour room service, you’ll find plenty of walkable dining options at Beards Hill Plaza, just under a mile away.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, Grumpy’s Bar is a low-key spot to grab a nightcap. For more action, downtown Aberdeen and nearby venues offer bars and lounges within a short drive. If you’re heading into Baltimore post-show, the nightlife ramps up with clubs, breweries, and late-night bites.

What People Say

Guests appreciate the hotel’s clean rooms, friendly staff, and the value for money. Many mention the location as a highlight—far enough from the noise to relax, but close enough to reach everything quickly. The on-site dining options and free parking also get frequent thumbs up.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the décor is a bit dated, and the continental breakfast is more basic than gourmet. But if you’re here for the music and not the frills, it’s a solid trade-off.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers who want affordable comfort, easy access to venues, and a quiet place to recharge, Travelodge by Wyndham Aberdeen hits the right note.

It's cheap for a reason!...

Liked: Bed seemed semi-comfortable. Was nice to spend time with my husband.
Disliked: The hallway floors looked like something out of a hostel or Saw movie. Ripped up, cracks in the floors, uneven and patched together floors throughout the hallway. Hall smelled of mildew and regret. The walls were cracked and chipped paint hanging off. The room was not much better. At first glance it appears to be clean. But then when using the toilet after sleeping in the room the previous night I see a roach crawl across the floor and into the wall at the base of the tub. The bottom of the tub looked like it was dirty or stained with something all across it. The floor in the main part of the room is cracked and peeling up. I specifically booked this hotel because it was pet friendly and had a pool. When we arrived, the pool was closed. There was no water in it and there was a large hole in the center of the concrete in the pool. I was unable to use this amenity at all. We ultimately ended our stay early after only 1 night after witnessing the roach. We witnessed other black bugs crawling on the floor as well. There were people posted right outside of the back doors of the hotel begging for money. The gas station that was in walking distance from the room also had a person outside the store entrance begging for money. I understand that times are hard right now but I don't want to be hassled leaving the hotel only to be hassled again at the gas station, entering and leaving. Overall a very poor stay.

It’s ok if you need...

Liked: It was cheap, safe, near 95. Had a restaurant attached and close to a lot of stores.
Disliked: The bed was springs and very firm. Our initial entrance to the first floor and our room smelled of really old must and dampness. They need air purifiers and dehumidifiers running. It would be a lot nicer if whomever remodeled it hadn’t been so sloppy with their workmanship…slopping paint on the baseboards, covering gaps in the wall behind toilet paper holders. They were clearly in a hurry. It seemed clean. The bathroom was small with a small tub and the shower curtain was definitely needing a washing. The continental breakfast was a real disappointment. It was one of the main reasons we picked this hotel over other. It was a choice of Raisin Bran or corn flakes. That’s it. No yogurt. No orange juice. No waffles. The coffee was in a carafe although there was a machine sitting there and the front desk gentleman went to name more. We left and went and had an excellent breakfast at Cracker Barrel. We wanted to use the pool that am but was told it wasn’t open until 10. With check out bring 11, that wasn’t really conducive.

I got in the shower...

Liked: Nothing very rude and uncleanliness
Disliked: I got in the shower as soon as I stepped out roaches were all over the desks, the floors, my cups and food I just bought were covered in bugs. Not only do I have a phobia but my brother is allergic. When discussed with front desk I was promised a discount for next stay. 10%. Which I find very unreasonable and disrespectful. $5 off your next stay is ridiculous when my meal that was roach infested cost over $40. On top of being sleep deprived.
