Liked: What I really appreciated was the peaceful atmosphere — it’s not a party hostel, and the communal spaces felt calm and relaxed. The property itself was clean, neat, and well-kept, which I found to be a big plus. It’s also conveniently located: close to Cairns Central, easy to navigate around the city, and accessible from the airport.
Disliked: However, while the overall vibe was tranquil, the room itself didn’t offer the same peace. The property sits right along a major highway and truck route, so heavy vehicle noise was a constant through the night. Light sleepers — bring earplugs.As for the facilities, the showers felt more like a basic camping setup. While they were clean, the layout made it a bit awkward to use without getting your belongings wet or needing to juggle things off the floor. Manageable, but not ideal for comfort or privacy.All in all, if you're looking for a tidy, calm base in Cairns with good accessibility, this place ticks those boxes. Just be mindful of road noise and pack accordingly

A wonderfully renovated property with...

Liked: A really cute old property that has been well done inside and is kept beautifully clean. Peter was super helpful and let me leave my luggage there as I arrived before check in time. An easy walk to the town centre and literally right opposite the train station. It has a nice big kitchen and the wifi works really well throughout the property. The bathrooms were kept nice and clean and the showers were warm with good pressure. I liked that the room had its own fridge, and also plenty of hooks to hang things. The room had great air-con and a ceiling fan too. I think I even got a room upgrade as well! It felt super homely and I would definitely stay here again.
Disliked: The window above the door needed a bug net as it had no glass and didn’t close . The walls and doors are super thin (probably part of it being an older building) so it can be noisy with people moving around, talking and live music at the place next door. I slept with ear plugs and was totally fine. Don’t leave any open food around or it will attract ants - not the property’s fault at all but comes with being in the tropics!

Liked: Peter communicated everything well ahead of time. The whole are was super clean and well kept. It was a great place to stay and directly across from the mall and bus station.
Disliked: Can’t think of anything we didn’t like

Liked: Great location and staff. Peter went above and beyond even after check out to ensure we were able to spend our last day in Cairns doing some great stuff. He was the best of hosts and very easy to work with. We would highly recommend this booking.
Disliked: All good.
