Very good

Liked: The hot breakfast was good but used lower grade ingredients. Dining room was great with nice lake views. The room was very spacious, totally modernized, comfortable and I was able to work as well as rest.
Disliked: Entry doors and halls are dated and show signs of extreme wear and tear.

Not a happy stay.

Liked: Location good on the way to the Newfoundland ferry.
Disliked: The description of the room we booked on Booking.com was not the room we were given. The owner explained the photos and description are “just advertising”. We didn’t understand that. I showed him it was under “room details” so why wasn’t it the room we got? A real issues with goose poop on the property. Pool not yet open but included in description of the property. Air conditioner sounded like a jet plane taking off from our room.

Liked: Nice location right on the lake, good spot for starting day trips to Cabot Trail and Sydney
Disliked: No breakfast in shoulder season even though booked like that through booking.com. Frustrating if you count on that especially on a bank holiday weekend.Water in the shower only medium warm but hot from the sink.

Liked: Our car broke down 60 kms from the lodge and we were stuck in hwy 105. We were with our 11 yo, 5 yo and 2 month old children. No taxis and tow company was coming in atleast 2hrs. I called Trailsman Lodge if they have a service that can pick us up and very kindly, the owner came to our rescue. He drove 40mins to come pick us up while my husband stayed behind to wait for the tow truck and this was around 8pm. He only charged us a very reasonable amount. Very very kind man. As to our room, it was clean and the view was very nice. We will definitely stay here again.
