Tower Suites by Blue Orchid

As soon has you enter the hotel you could tell that it was a classy hotel. I was greeted by a member of staff who directed me to the desk to check in; the staff were all so helpful. The room was spotless and well stocked with tea and coffee. The breakfast was first class - plenty of everything. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and family if they need to stay in London.

Disliked: Absolutely not worth 5 stars – complete disappointment!This place doesn’t even come close to deserving 5 stars. Honestly, it barely scrapes 3, and that’s being generous.The air conditioning was completely broken – in the middle of summer, with 35°C outside, the room was a sauna. Sleeping in those conditions was unbearable. There was no mini bar. The hairdryer didn’t work. Every supposed “luxury” was either missing or non-functional.What really pushed it over the edge was the situation with the EU power adapter. They gave us one that didn’t work. When we asked for a replacement, they couldn’t be bothered – they just told us to go buy one from a nearby shop. For a so-called 5-star hotel, this is utterly unacceptable.Nothing about this hotel meets even the basic standards of what five stars should offer – not the service, not the facilities, not the attitude of the staff. It’s a joke. A complete waste of money and patience. Avoid at all costs.

Disappointing really with the air...

Disliked: Room service for cleaning the room was far too late in the day 4pm!!The bed was rock hard really uncomfortable No air conditioning working in the hotel therefore a discount should have been given but was not.

Disliked: The air-conditioning kept breaking down and the hotel was not prepared for this

Let down by a very...

Liked: Tower Suites by Blue Orchid was in an excellent location and the room size was good for a family of 4 (2 x adults and 2 x children). The transport connections to the hotel are good. The breakfast was okay but it had limited options.
Disliked: The hotel air conditioning in the rooms was not functional during a heat wave in London (30+degrees). This caused the hotel experience to be very unpleasant. The room was like a sauna. They offered a portable AC unit which we accepted but it never arrived in our room. There was AC in the common areas which indicated that only the room AC was turned off. They were also too rigid on our booking. 24hours prior to our check in we requested if we could reduce the number of nights from 5 nights to 4 nights as our plans had changed to accommodate changed travel plans due to a some bad news received. The reservation clerk was adamant that we could not change as it was too late. This is an expensive 5 star hotel but I would not recommend to anyone. Their customer service and empathy is non existent. What made it worse is near the end of our stay they sent us a email apologizing about the AC not working but they would not let us change our reservation to check into another place with working AC.

A nearly perfect option for...

Liked: Location is absolutely superb, just a min walk from the Tower Hill station and 5 min walk from the Aldgate station. Clean and cozy rooms, well equipped and modern. Nice friendly staff. Water supplied for free every day. Multiple charging points and several European sockets
Disliked: A/C switched off and did not work again several times during our stay. No minibar in the room. Laundry service does not deliver your things back tonthe door, you have to pick them up from the consierge

Liked: Great location, near to the tube, Tower of London, great bar, reception, friendly and professional staff, value for money, room, bathroom, shower, great housekeeping. All round fab hotel and would definitely stay again!
Disliked: The air on in the hotel wasn’t working and we wish we were informed at check in so that we could’ve managed the room temperature better so that it did not disturb our sleep. We informed reception at check out and was given recompense.
