Hidden Gem

Liked: We love going to York and we found this hidden gem at last minute. We were hours early before check in but spoke to Tony and he let us book in early and park car up but room wouldn’t be ready till after 2. Nice stroll into town roughly 10 minutes but prefer to walk as roads around York are manic and a lot of one ways/traffic. After being in York all day, went finally to B&B to settle in. Rooms were themed and spacious never mind the detail into the building its self was lovely and homely. When we checked in earlier, we were sent link through our phones, where there is so many options ie heating options and ordering breakfast for next morning etc including gluten free options for my wife. Breakfast was perfect and timed, as we picked time again through the link but then more detail from Tony learning guests names, when serving breakfast which I thought was a lovely touch. Thanks again Tony & Diana and we will be back in the future.

Liked: Perfect location, within walking distance to the city
Disliked: All communication and instruction was done via a mobile app. This is ok if your technically minded, unfortunately we are not

Liked: Very polite and accommodating couple. The room was very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Nice little touches of complimentary soft drinks and water plus fresh milk in the fridge (in the room). Breakfast was very good. 10 minute walk into the centre. Free parking. If in the area again, I will definitely look at staying again

Great property and excellent hosts...

Liked: Beautiful property and excellent hosts, hotel app for ordering breakfast, checking in and controlling room temp. Easy to access and onsite parking. Breakfast was excellent.
Disliked: Location is quite far from centre of city and the air conditioning in the room didn’t seem powerful enough to achieve the set temperature.

Exceptional

Liked: The breakfast was exceptional, and the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very nice and i especially liked the app they have, where i could set the room temperature on it, to cool it down when we came back on hot days.

Liked: Air con in room was great as it was very hot weather while we were there
Disliked: Room was at top of house and my husband kept hitting his head on ceiling, maybe warning on room description would help while you're booking this room

Outstanding service

Liked: A friendly greeting from Tony. Easy to use app to order breakfast. Use of a toilet on early arrival. Easy parking. Comfortable room. Extra touches: mini fridge with cold milk, water and cans of pop. A guide to York and the sights with an easy route in as advised by Tony. Delicious hot breakfast. Table service at breakfast was really lovely with Tony bringing across your hot drinks and hot food order and greeting you by name. Everything was above and beyond.
