Slightly disappointing

Liked: Location was great & staff very welcoming & helpful. Room & bathroom were clean. Able to use bar terrace during our stay which has nice views to sea across Titchwell Marsh. Bar & lounge area comfortable. Breakfast menu was superb choice with lovely fresh fruit & varied cooked options all nicely presented & of high quality. Choice of eating areas but menu appears to be the same in both. Dog free restaurant but can eat with dogs in bar area. As non dog owners we appreciated the fact that there was a dog free eating area even though we like dogs. Easy parking.
Disliked: Booked one of their "Good " rooms which was adequate given it is their basic room but only one chair provided as seatin, despite being a double room. Room dominated by a huge tired dressing table with massive stool which didn't go with decor & was wasted space making room more cramped than needed. Found dinner menu confusing & mains options limited. Starters & desserts were lovely but found main courses disappointing & a bit unbalanced in portion size e.g I had whole rack of pork but my husband got one small chop for lamb dish. Quality of meat was also disappointing & lacked any flavour. Sauces were thin & pretty tasteless. Lack of attention to detail e.g tomato salad had cores left in & was just dumped in a bowl swimming in dressing. Overall compared to the breakfasts the quality & presentation of food at dinner was poor given the prices charged.

Exceeded expectations!

Liked: Breakfast was delicious and no request was too much. Staff were polite and kind and very attentive. The views over to the coast were very relaxing whilst having dinner.
Disliked: I think the price of food in the restaurant is slightly overpriced, but the service was faultless. The coffee machine in our room was quite dirty and so I didn’t use it.

lovely location, lots of place...

Liked: the helpfulness of the staff was above normal, helping with cases and answering any questions , Breakfast was excellent , Not eating fish myself ( allergies) I found dinner menu short of meat options.
Disliked: I do not like a menu when you pay extra for vegetables, this should be included in the main meal. Paying £6 for a small bowl of greens to add to your none greens dish meal not the thing to do.

Liked: Quiet, excellent service and very attentive staff.
Disliked: This is not a criticism but constructive comment.Requires extra shelf in the Bathroom for personal toiletries.Pictures behind sofa need to be higher on wall as kept catching them with head.

Lovely 2 night stay

Liked: Staff were super friendly & went out of their way for us, literally getting some pudding for us after the kitchens had closed as we'd had a rubbish meal elsewhere that night. The 1 night we ate at the hotel, it was really lovely.Roaring log fire, always a bonus too
Disliked: I'm sure I booked a "better room" & I think we were given a very basic room. It was clean & OK but we needed a bigger bed than a double which is why i upgraded to better room at the time of booking. Lighting was very poor, couldn't see to put my make-up on so hubby had to rig up a torch
