Poor

Liked: Room was clean.
Disliked: Room was very poorly designed. Caught head on beams several times whilst getting out of bed and walking across room to go to the toilet. Also toilet position was poor and again banged head several times. Sensor lighting in toilet was a good idea but not strong enough to light up the beams and was hence hazardous.

We recommend!

Liked: Love the Coach Inn Group hotels, we tried the one located in Devon last year, and the Castle of Brecon didn't disappoint. Everything is perfect: we loved the small cottage style room, extremely comfortable and quiet, good food, nice lounge and outdoor terrace, we like the decoration too (you need to come to see)!We recommend
Disliked: Limited ustensiles and not towel, sponge and wash up liquid in the cottage kitchen.

Liked: Hotel is beautiful. Recently refurbished to a very high standard. Rooms are on the small side, it's an old building so has an charm & character. Staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was good and had a varied menu. Location is 4 minute walk to the high street with slight inclines which may impact on the less mobile.great base for exploring the local area. Beautiful surroundings and views.

Lovely short stay.

Liked: The room was exceptional but the service more so. Every member of staff we met were extremely friendly whilst remaining completely professional at all times. Wonderful service!
Disliked: The room was wonderful, though the beds were slightly hard.

Exceptional

Liked: Triumphant refurb of the hotel. Great breakfast and very friendly staff.
Disliked: Some of the rooms on the second floor are compromised by low beams and eaves. Not for tall people.

Mixed bag for castle of...

Liked: Standard of the refit and ambience, cleanliness, location, pet friendly
Disliked: No opening window in the superior room it was extremely hot even with all 3 supplied fans switched but there was no ventilation so it was still extremely hot and stuffy and the fans were noisy so sleeping was almost impossible Were told food service times up till 8.45pm however we're not told except on Sunday which was 7.45pm so on Sunday we couldn't get food as we arrived back too late not even a sandwich so had to go without, there was another guest in the same situation very disappointing they couldn't buter 2 slices of bread even or bring out a slice of cake or anything Because of the reasons above I have to say I was disappointed and we left very tired after 3 hot sleepless nights
